Not that I think anyone here would recommend this carrier. But posting in case someone has this carrier and hasn't seen this. This just highlights the importance of buying a reputable carrier and not buying unknown brands on Amazon. If cost is a concern, buy secondhand instead of cheap carriers on Amazon!

Discuss I don't get the Ring Sling hype

They're uncomfortable. I started using them when my LO was 6mo and ~16lbs. It was uncomfortable back then but it's only getting more and more uncomfortable.

It's not a fit issue I made sure I was using them right. My first was a Nalakai Ring Sling, I kinda hate that one. It's too soft and slippery and though I think they're perfect for newborns or very young babies, they lack the structure and fabric strength to hold bigger babies. The other one I have is a tula ring sling, it's woven and I prefer this one better since I don't feel the baby is constantly sliding down.

The thing is, after some time (~30 mins) it starts to get really uncomfortable. Moreso if you need to be moving around a lot or need to use your hands and your LO is 19lbs. The weight of the baby is all supported on one shoulder so you can't use that arm while the other arm is blocked by the baby. At this point I very much prefer a normal carrier. The only advantage is that they're lightweight and portable. I don't understand the hype tho.

Babybjorn Mini…. but this seems fine?

I’ve read up after getting the babybjorn mini about how much people around here beef on it, but it seems like his knees are up, his butt is back, etc. only like 7 days old so things may change obviously, got an Ergo for later and a stretchy wrap I haven’t tried.

Anything I’m missing?

Just a moment of appreciation for the Nalakai fabric - it’s so buttery soft but also cool and crisp at the same time?? I want clothes or sheets made of this!

Discuss Do your babies wear dresses?

Hi everyone,
I have a little girl and 2-3 dresses that I would love to put her in. They were all gifts and I cannot help it, I love them so much. But then when I think about it I feel weird putting her in a dress and then in my wrap for her nap. Do your babies actually wear dresses even in wraps/carriers?

Maybe a weird question but I am genuinely so curious lol. Thanks!

How does this look? I think the only mistake I made was he had footed pajamas on this time, but I believe he should be barefoot.

My guy is 9 weeks actual, 3 corrected and 10 pounds. I do have him in the newborn carry with his feet tucked. Thanks!

FTM using Hope & Plum sprout carrier. It doesn’t feel right and can’t seem to figure it out. If I pull the two side straps, it feels too constricted on his legs and I don’t want it hurting him. Not sure how else to get him up higher. His neck area seems too lose as well. Tried to upload as many pics as possible. TYIA!

Ergobaby adapt

I know world facing is never necessary, but can Ergobaby Adapt be used for world-facing or only Omni/360? To me it looks super similar to Omni but the manual doesn’t have instructions for world facing. Thanks!

Soft carriers for short people

I recently bought the ergobaby omni classic and I hate it. I am 4’10 and I hate it. It’s so long and the mesh makes me itch and I can’t imagine putting the delicate skin that I made from scratch in that thing. It’s also expensive for the quality (imo). I also can’t properly gage how I feel about carriers because I am whale right now. Should I wait until after the baby is here to decide on a carrier or do you guys have recommendations?

I know carriers are personal and experiences vary, but some options to consider would be nice!

I picked this up at consignment sale so no manual! He is 4mo and probably 15lbs. I feel like back panel could sit higher, but he has enough head control at this point that it didn’t FEEL unsafe. (My hand is to cover his face in the picture, not providing any support) I couldn’t get the panel higher and still have a deep seat, but does that matter in this carrier? I also don’t love how I can feel the waist belt digging in like it’s too tall to sit comfortably in my natural waist. Is it meant to go more on the hips? It’s pretty comfortable otherwise and was much quicker to get him into than a wrap!

Fit Check Fit check tall and chunky 9 week old, ergobaby omni - strap gap?

Hi, baby has pretty much grown out of the ergobaby embrace and dolly wrap, so moving into the omni. This is my second baby I am using this carrier with, and feel pretty confident in getting a good, safe fit, but trying to find ways to improve it. I don’t *love* the omni since it’s bulky and I find it harder to get a good fit with the H back, but it’s what I have. My main issue is with the straps gaping/not sitting flush on the shoulder. Baby keeps rubbing his face on it. Any tips on fixing that? Or is it just how the omni is?

Fit Check Need some help.. Ergobaby Aura wrap

Hi! I have a 5-week-old who doesn't like to be put down, so I want to use a baby wrap in order to be able to actually do some stuff (like clean up after a poopy mess...) but I'm really struggling with getting it right.

First of all, I'm never sure whether the baby has enough of a gap for air, which is why I've tried to pull the fabric off the shoulder on one side. However, when I do that the fabric on his back also moves to the side to some degree, which I'm not sure is a good thing.

Plus, it always seems like one of his legs is higher than the other one and I don't understand why he ends up being like this. I know the fabric needs to go from knee to knee, but even when the wrap is tied a bit better in that regard he still sits crooked. I also know that the back panel should be pulled fully down but I wanted you to be able to see his legs.

On top of that, I'm just never sure whether he's comfortable... He doesn't really want to sit calmly in it, which sends me the signal that he doesn't like it that much but I have no idea what I should be doing differently. I've watched the video with instructions so many times and I don't get what I'm missing here.

I also have the Tula free-to-grow but I don't think he likes that one much better. That's going to have to be a separate post lol (crying inside).

I'm sorry for the bad pictures and that my phone is blocking things - I hope you can still use them and potentially give some feedback on how to wrap it better. If not, I'll post better pictures when I feel ready to try again. Thank you!

Discuss Are other people allowed to wear your baby?

My husband showed my mil how to carry our 3mo in a zeitgeist when they were watching baby for the first time i went out one evening for a few hours. when she comes over now, she is really eager to wear baby. I feel I should be happy about it, and that the more the baby is carried the better (and its a really heavy baby already, so im not wearing all day), but the truth is that im not comfortable with it, and i actually feel it is too intimate. I dont mind her holding baby in her arms, and im also ok with her taking baby for walks in a stroller when baby sleeps.

I know we are all different, and that i have to listen to my own feelings about it, but i would still just like some perspective. I haven’t told my husband about my feelings yet.

Edit:
Thank you everyone! I am realising a couple of things when Im reading the comments.

First of all: the safely wearing issue is definitely there. She doesn’t know, and husband is not skilled enough to teach her. She is also not very open to be taught stuff by me.
Second, it’s also more the general, typical mother in law energy. Baby is her first grandchild and i feel like she wants the baby too much, which is definitely putting me off, and this is present in the mix of not wanting her to wear baby…
Also: she uses perfumated creams and
Lastly: wearing a baby smooched into your bosom is actually very intimate. Even though its perfectly natural and people in other cultures do it all the time.

Fit Check Is my baby too small for this carrier?

Thumbnail

Got this carrier as a present and trying to figure out the fit. While my three week old is technically above the minimum measurements for this carrier (ergobaby omni dream) I think he still seems too small for it.

Do his legs seem ok? I think his weight is still mostly in his bum.

And is it okay that he keeps turning his head under the strap? His face isn't covered as there is lots of room underneath and his airway seems clear to me but I never babywore before so I truly know nothing.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Baby is 10 weeks, >24 inch and 14.5-15lb.

Loving the feel of this compared to Ergo Embrace and Solly Wrap, since my baby is heavy. Tell me what to adjust, please!

As title says, I’m a FTM and would love some feedback. I have a 10 week old. He’s 14 lbs and 25 inches long. I have the ergobaby embrace.

We’re going to the zoo this weekend with his cousins and I was planning on using this if the stroller isn’t working.

So if you saw me in public, what would you say?

Tushbaby Liftoff Sling?

Has anyone tried the Tushbaby Liftoff Sling? I used the hip carrier when my daughter was a baby and loved it! She’s now 2.5 years old and constantly goes back and forth between wanting to walk and wanting to be carried, but it’s hard on my back to carry her for long periods using just my arms.

The hip carrier is a little too bulky for my needs these days and I’m newly pregnant so won’t be able to use it much longer anyhow. I like the idea of the sling since I can just leave it draped around my body when she’s on her feet or fold it up into a purse or diaper bag, but it’s kind of expensive and I haven’t seen many reviews so I’m reluctant to purchase it just yet.
