Fit Check Is my baby too small for this carrier?

Got this carrier as a present and trying to figure out the fit. While my three week old is technically above the minimum measurements for this carrier (ergobaby omni dream) I think he still seems too small for it.

Do his legs seem ok? I think his weight is still mostly in his bum.

And is it okay that he keeps turning his head under the strap? His face isn't covered as there is lots of room underneath and his airway seems clear to me but I never babywore before so I truly know nothing.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Yes, you have a ways to go before this carrier fits. The piece that you have tucked under by his neck should be out and pinned down, and the width of the seat looks a little too wide still. You can have his hands up by his face for comfort. This carrier won’t fit until baby’s full head is above the top of the carrier, usually around 3mo. Disregard any weight requirements from the company, it’s what they use for safety testing but in practicality height is all that matters at this age.

Thank you for the reply! I figured it was still too big, I suppose those wrap carriers are more suitable for this size/age range

You could also get something like the Ergobaby Embrace or Neko Tiny since they adjust down far enough, but a wrap will provide a more customized fit at that (and any) age, especially a woven or ring sling.

I'll look into those, thank you so much!!
