And when in the day do you do it?

Not looking for medical advice just to see if anyone had a similar experience.
I'm a very avid runner but when I tested positive I went from I went from 35-45 mpw with 3k-5k ft elevation to 30mpw with no elevation and no runs over 8 miles to keep it easy.
I kept this up from the day of the positive test until 8w+0 where I had a singular gush of blood. No other bleeding and then passed a MASSIVE blood clot at 8w+3. There was no doubt that we had lost it. However despite ALL the symptoms when we went in for a scan at 8w+5 everything was fine. They didn't see a source for the bleed and my cervix was closed.
They said I can resume activity once the bleeding had stopped which it has but I'm so scared to do anything other than sit on the couch. Im afraid to go to the bathroom or to laugh too hard or to sneeze.
We've been given the all clear but I've been completely terrified by the whole experience. Has anyone experienced anything similar and if so how did you get yourself out of it? Or am I right to abandon the idea of a fit pregnancy. I've read the papers that fail to find a significant relationship between running and miscarriage but I'm so so freaked I can't get out of my head

Newly pregnant and my RHR has already gone from 43 bpm to 58 bpm. I’m walking incredibly slow and getting a little super tired during easy workouts. I tested positive 8dpo. And am currently sitting at 4 weeks.
I typically work out 6 times a week including 3 runs, 2 lifts, 1 Pilates. I was hoping to realistically keep 4 active days as much as possible during pregnancy but right now it seems impossible. I plan on slowing my running pace down a lot but am hoping to maintain what I can lift.
Any tips or anyone who can relate? Should I change my expectations?

I’m very much not an exerciser. But I also understand the benefit of exercising and stretching during pregnancy. I’m looking for an app to help guide me as to what is safe.

This is for any other research-loving mamas out there. Current evidence-based practice is now providing proof that lifting heavy while pregnant is SAFE for the baby. For a graduate school student and new mama like me, this is extremely exciting, and I just wanted to share the study (linked below).
If anyone tells you not to lift weights (like my undereducated OBGYN did), send them this link. https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/bjsports/59/3/159.full.pdf

I’m 30 weeks today, and have found that the last few days my healthy anxiety has started to kick up again. There’s nothing particular I’m anxious about and feeling baby is reassuring, but I also have a lot of silent fears around preeclampsia and placental abruption as time goes on (social media doesn’t really help).
Pre pregnancy, my overnight RHR was typically low to mid 40s. Now I’m sitting low to mid 70s. Sitting at my desk at work my HR tends to be in the 80s, and right now is hovering 90-100.
I obviously know an increase is expected and normal, but I’m curious to hear from others who had lower resting heart rates pre pregnancy. I’m still quite consistent in a workout routine, mixing running, walking, strength, and cycling about 5 days a week.
Appreciate any other experiences!

What are your thoughts on continuing a pre workout while pregnant? I’m in my second tri and really miss it! I use the stim free (caffeine free) from promix. There’s really little data on using it during pregnancy. The ingredients in it are natural occurring in food, just at a bigger dosage. I’m confused on whether I should consume it 2-3x a week.
Side note on creatine, for the most researched supplement in the world, there’s lacking data on taking it during pregnancy! Generally though I’d assume it’s safer than a pre workout (I’ve stopped taking my daily 5g of that too).
Share your thoughts and experiences please! Or if you have research or studies you’ve used to make an informed decision, I would love to see those!

Hi! Looking for recommendations of fitness apps that are either prenatal specific or have a prenatal program that are self-paced (like more step by step text format) not video based. I currently use Sweat and used it for my previous pregnancy as well but looking to switch it up. I just haven’t been able to find anything that uses that same format where I can click through my workout as I go. I’m typically doing my workouts with my toddler around so I’m not able to focus fully on a video and find it hard when I need to keep pausing or going back if I missed something!

Does anyone have functional drink recs that are ttc/pregnancy safe? Almost all I’ve looked into have non pregnancy friendly ingredients. TIA

Hey everyone, I love this group and trying not to totally compare to some of you baddies that are making me feel super inadequate 😂I’ve been struggling the past 5 weeks or so with pelvic floor discomfort when I run. I started pelvic floor PT and use a belly band but it’s just not comfortable anymore, and run-walk for 3 miles is pretty much my max. Pre pregnancy I was in a marathon training cycle and even if I wasn’t training I was generally getting about 20 miles per week. I guess I just see a lot of you still talking about running until 30 weeks plus and so is this really abnormal? My plan is to transition to elliptical and swimming over the summer, but I want to keep running “as long as possible” if it’s not painful. Thanks for your takes!!

Hey everyone! I’m 6 weeks pp, I have my 6 week check this week. I was just wondering how everyone started off getting back into the gym? I’ve been doing pelvic floor exercises and some very chilled core exercises too, along with steps daily. I am veeeery keen to get back to training my mental health is not great without it! I have been gifted the support bands for around your stomach, has anyone used one? If so is it useful?

Have any runner mamas kept up with speed work during pregnancy? Since the start of my pregnancy I’ve kept my running to Zone 2 and 5/6 effort, but missing the feeling of speed workouts and wanting to improve my speed. Curious to see how that’s been for other pregnant runners out there! :)

Have you been getting alerts about an "outlier" for your sleep health status? Almost everyday I've been getting an alert for my HRV being above normal ranges.
I'm not concerned about it, just thought it was funny that this started right after I conceived and it could be a tell if I ever get pregnant again.

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and do not have much of a noticeable bump yet. However I noticed a couple of times now that after doing longer runs I have some pubic soreness once I am finished the run that lasts a couple hours then goes away completely. I am not sure if starting to use a belly band would help this? I am in the process of trying to schedule something with a pelvic floor PT but would love to hear from some others what their experience was knowing when it was time for belly band

I (31F with zero children) have been running consistently for two years now and have done over a dozen halfs and a bunch of other 5K/10Ks during that time. I signed up for the SF marathon a few months ago and am in the thick of training since it’s in 8 weeks at the end of July. My predicted finish time is 4 hours and 30 mins, but the course gives you 6 hours to finish. However, recently I had my fertility tested and my egg count and hormones are in the lower range. The doctor recommended trying immediately esp since we want multiple kids and so we want to begin conceiving this cycle. However, if successful, I’d be 6-7 weeks pregnant during the marathon. Even if we conceived next cycle (July), I’d probably be 4 weeks pregnant during the marathon.
Does anyone have advice on running in the first trimester? I’ve heard there’s a lot of fatigue and nausea and needing to pee a lot. I’d love any advice on whether it’s smart or whether to defer the marathon because it could be dangerous. I could try to walk parts of it to finish also…
I understand I’m not pregnant yet and it can take multiple cycles to try so all of this could be a non issue. However, before trying, I want to make an informed decision. It’s always been a life goal of mine to run a marathon and running has really helped with my mental health struggles so I’m just feeling a bit anxious having to give up distance running in general.

Hey all! I’m currently running MegSquats stronger by the day program. I am 10 months PP. I generally like it and she gives options for shorter work outs and less days but im struggling with feeling super motivated and not making much progress. It’s really focused on building strength in the main 3 big lifts, almost powerlifting style, and despite the express option I just don’t feel like I have time needed to properly warm up the big lifts and feel like I can make progress.
What weightlifting programs do you all like that is good when you have to do quick work outs (under an hour)? It doesn’t have to be focused on squats, deadlifts and bench. I’m very much open to straying away from that. I want to enjoy my work out, feel a challenge and get the most bang for my buck out of the time I have.
Thanks!!

I'm 27 weeks and have been consistently riding my Peloton/lifting all pregnancy. In the last 2 weeks, though, it's starting to get uncomfortable down in the baby exit area when sitting on the saddle.
Did anyone have this? Is this just normal body changing? Any tips?

Hi! I just found out I was pregnant.
I lift about two to three days a week and plan to continue doing into my pregnancy (if I feel well enough). I also do some light cardio every day.
In addition to this, I’d like to build more core strength and flexibility for pregnancy specifically, but I can’t decide if Pilates or yoga is a better fit.
Does anyone have information to share on the benefits of these exercises from their own experience? I know I could ask Chat GPT this, but I guess I was excited to hear about other people’s experiences first as I plan my own path forward.
Thanks!!

Just wanting some reassurance. I’m 5w5d. I did IVF for the first time and was being overly cautious so I haven’t worked out much the last couple of months. Before that I had a decent level of strength/cardio. All advice has been to do low to moderate exercise in the first trimester as you don’t want to get too hot as it can be bad for the embryo (is what I’ve been advised).
Today, despite feeling not very great I decided I needed to get back into things, and have read great things about nourish move love. I did the first workout for 1st trimester and holy moly, I struggled. Which is to be expected because of the break I’ve had and how bad I was feeling today, so I tried to take it easy. But my question is around the intensity of the workout. It seemed pretty intense in terms of cardio. Even the trainer stated she was in the red zone. So I guess I’m having anxiety that if I follow this program properly I will be doing a moderate - high intensity workout which I’ve been told I should probably avoid. I would love to hear your thoughts? Like everyone, I don’t want to do anything that puts my baby's health at risk

I’m not usually a big poster on here but I’m in the first trimester of my third pregnancy and have figured out a cure to the horrible pregnancy symptom of constipation. I’ve shared it with a few friends who it also works wonders for, it’s super healthy, tastes good, and if you’re like me, constipation adds to the nausea so this just helps relieve that. I feel like I need to share it to the world!
When I’m not pregnant I have this smoothie pretty much every day with lunch after I work out and my gut is just, honestly, pristine! obviously in the first trimester it’s hard to eat as much or very well, but I try to fit this in when I can stomach it. I haven’t been constipated once yet and I’m nearing 10 weeks. I hope you’ll try and let me know if it helps !!

I am an absolute Garmin data nerd, love all the stats I get from my watch. To the point that I knew I was pregnant before I tested positive from the change in some of my stats. So, I’m intrigued as I get closer to my due date if others noticed any changes the closer they got to indicate they would be going into labour soon? Appreciate watching the data and obsessing won’t help me be calm but I’m intrigued.

My sister gave birth 9 months ago (c section) and now wants to start work-out, as raising a child is very energy intense activity and she doesn't feel fit anymore. However I am concerned if it's gonna put too much pressure on the body. She eats healthy and everything is okay medically but she wanted to know from other women first. Since she doesn't use reddit, I am asking on her behalf.
Thankyou so much!
