Any mom's who use a Garmin watch?

Have you been getting alerts about an "outlier" for your sleep health status? Almost everyday I've been getting an alert for my HRV being above normal ranges.

I'm not concerned about it, just thought it was funny that this started right after I conceived and it could be a tell if I ever get pregnant again.

Yep. My HRV is in its boots, RHR is higher. Garmin thinks i'm always sleeping lightly because of this. VO2 max has tanked as i get progressively slower and i'm detraining as i do less. This is despite the pregnancy setting ha

I've had the same experience lol I keep telling myself I'll stop reading my morning report but I have yet to stop at 32 weeks lol

I'm a bit of a data nerd so I kinda enjoy seeing the numbers. My numbers now are similar to the days after 100k-100mile ultras which is quite something, normally I'd be horrified but it kinda explains why everything is so tiring and exhausting. It's helping me agree to listen to my body rather than just push through to keep going. And also intrigued as to how it changes once I deliver, like does it instantly get better?

6 days post partum here, unfortunately it does not instantly get better LOL

It was pretty instant for me

Well, you must be really lucky lol. My HRV is shot from the constant wake-ups for middle of the night feeds. Some nights my watch doesn't even register any sleep!

So true about it helping to listen to your body! I will say I have used the info to go a little easier in my workouts, or even opt to sleep in instead of get up for a workout. Also sad to know it doesn't instantly get better 😅

All the same here. It went back to normal so fast after baby was out. Other than the sleep scores lol 🙃😴

Lol mine just tells me every day is a stressful day that I need to recover from, with the exception of the days where I swim for a couple hours. I switched to the pregnancy setting and it still says I’m too stressed. But then if I lay down it’ll buzz me to get up and move 😂 pick a lane garmin.

Hahaha Garmin is the biggest bully! Mine switches between demanding and stressful. I had an 89 sleep score, highest score in the entire time I've owned it, so send like the stress and demand is helping me sleep 🥴

Same! Every day is currently ‘stressful’ and days where I do more are ‘demanding’ but always the reminders to get up and move 😅

Cant say that Ive seen this, have you switched to the pregnancy setting?

Yes, I did. I definitely sleep better while pregnant so maybe that's why.

Glad to hear it, but that is so insane to me. My sleep has been so disrupted by more frequent napping, more vivid dreams, and now a belly that is too big for me to roll over at night lol

I'm only 9 weeks so I know the middle night wakes up are around the corner. I'm trying to take advantage of all the sleep right now 😂

Where’s the pregnancy setting? 😭 do all garmins have it cause I didn’t think they had it

My basic forerunner 55 has it so I assume most other models will have it. I think you can change it under health stats > menstrual cycle?

I have a baby now, but my HRV and heart rate were wildly abnormal all pregnancy. My RHR was way higher and my HRV lower than I thought possible.

Try not to sweat it. Pretty much the moment I had my baby, my HRV went back from 30 to 120, and my RHR from 65 to 40. Wild stuff.

Did you notice any correlation between HRV going up and when you went into labor?

I didn't! A friend had sent me an article about this, so I was impatiently waiting to see it trend up before my due date, but it didn't for me. Wasn't until she was out that my HRV finally increased

Mine has gone up by 2 points the last 5 days so I'm curious to see if it'll keep going up and coincide with when I go into labor.

I remember with my second seeing a very sharp drop to my RHR the day I delivered. That was pretty neat. If I looked back on the yearly graph I could tell the day she was born very easily.

Yep garmin hates pregnancy it seems lol. My husband's friend had the same issue, and apparently all the alerts get worse as time goes on in the pregnancy. I've given up caring about some of them

My Garmin says I'm barely alive at 32 weeks. 😂 My RHR is high, my sleep score is crap, my body battery hasn't been above 30 in weeeeeks. My HRV is so low it doesn't even give me a number anymore 😂

I’m 34 weeks and managed a sleep score over 40 last week somehow! Body battery hasn’t been above 50 since about halfway through the second tri

I have mine and pregnancy mode so it doesn’t bother me about my health stats

1

u/Equivalent_Shock7408 23h ago

Yes! I switched it over to pregnancy mode and now I don’t get those notifications

Edited to add: my outliers before switching to pregnancy mode were temp, hr, hrv, and vo2 max

Me!!! I was suspicious if I was pregnant when I saw my resting heart rate go up even though I want sick or not drinking alcohol or not stressed. This and along with HRV status being an outlier.

I got from the garmin community that it’s pretty common. I wish they had a pregnancy mode though.

Edit: okay just saw in other comment that there’s a pregnancy setting will explore that
