Free English Classes (online)

Not sure if this would be helpful but if so feel free to read—

My name is Josh Escayg and I’m a rising senior at the University of Notre Dame majoring in English. I’m currently home for the summer and want to practice teaching English before applying to postgraduate programs. My goal is to give back—and wanted to see if anyone from backgrounds where learning English is difficult would be interested in free lessons? I am likely able to take on a few students, and may organize group classes while I am home for the summer.

I have studied English linguistics as part of my major. I also taught English while studying abroad in Shanghai at East China Normal University as part of the foreign language club. I am intermediate in Spanish and very beginner in Mandarin :)

If this would be helpful feel free to shoot me a pm and I’ll send you a link to a form where I can learn more about your experience and language goals. Like I said this is 100% free. I’m not doing this to make money I just wanted to give back and get better as a teacher.

FIRST TRIP TO TAJIKISTAN AND PAMIR - A Short film for my grandmother's memory.

TAJIKISTAN BAPESH! ❤️

I'm Russian-Tajik, and last year I travelled to Tajikistan for the first time in my life.

I went to find traces of my grandmother — Shoinmo — who grew up in the Pamir mountains. She was my favourite person in the world. She used to tell me bedtime stories about wild rivers and mountain girls and a winged spirit called Pari. By the time I made it there, dementia had taken most of her memories. She passed away while I was editing the film.

I just released it today. It's called Chasing Pari. I hope it reaches people who know and love this place, because Tajikistan is incredible and I want the world to know!!

Local restaurants in Dushanbe

Hi! I'm going to Dushanbe this summer and I'm looking for inexpensive and good local restaurants. If anyone could recommend places in the city where real locals eat, I'd be very grateful! Thank you!

Serious About Marriage ?

Salaam everyone,

we've recently launched an app called Ikhtiar — a platform built for Muslims who are serious about marriage,

Unlike typical apps, Ikhtiar focuses on:

* Respectful and Serious users from across the world

* Privacy-first options (including profiles without photos) for women

* A structured and serious approach toward finding a spouse

* Free for first 1000 users

The goal is simple: to make the process of finding a spouse more dignified, intentional, and aligned with our Islamic values.

If you or someone you know is looking for marriage, I’d really appreciate you checking it out and sharing it with others who may benefit.

JazakAllah Khair for your support 🤍

You can find the app here :

To anyone in the W40K hobby in Tajikistan

Thumbnail
4 Upvotes

Hi all, apologies for this being in English.

I want to keep up with the hobby, but searching online for how to do this in Tajikistan /Dushanbe is not going so well.

Here is my long shot query;

Is anyone involved in the hobby, and also, in or from Tajikistan?

If so;

Is there a shop you could reccomend for supplies / models/ matches?

Or is the only option to travel in stocked up / utilize a site such as ubuy.tj?

Any alternative to this site or advice on online ordering in Tajikistan in general would be greatly appreciated!

Some of the prices I have seen there are far and away from normal.

Thanks in advance! Cheers.

Назарсанҷӣ Could Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikstan unite into one secular republic

Could somthing like this work, with province being split ethnically and linguistically and the federal government having one official language whilst protecting regional minority languages? (I am tajik born in afghanistan and raised in iran, so i am a hardline pan iranist, just needed to know if this would actually work)

What's worth to visit in Tajikistan from Samarkand?

Hey! I am traveling through Uzbekistan in July, and wondering if it's worth visiting any place in Tajikistan that is relatively close or easy to reach from Samarkand? I know about Seven Lakes, but was wondering if it's worth it to visit any other places in this part of Tajikistan as well.

Where do people usually buy large vehicles there?
I mean commercial trucks, dump trucks, construction vehicles, or other specialized heavy-duty trucks.

Are there popular websites, marketplaces, Telegram groups, dealerships, or specific cities/markets people use the most?

How much people of Tajikistan know about Nepal?

Hi, I am from Nepal. I found out we have some similarities.

Both are heavily mountainous countries.

Both depend a lot on remittances.

Both are geopolitically between larger powers.

Hydropower potential is huge in both countries.

Rural population is still significant.

I just wanted know how much people of Tajikistan know about Nepal.

Taking a drone in Tajikistan

Hi,
I am travelling to Central Asia and want to take a drone with me for Kyrgysztan and Kazachstan. I am also going to Tajikistan, but I have read that drones are forbidden in Tajikistan. Does anyone have any experience with taking the drone through Tajikistan (without using it)? I am landing on Dushanbe Airport.
Thank you!

How severe is electricity rationing in the winter?

I’m reading articles and some say it mostly happens in rural areas, while others say the power gets cut in Dushanbe too. Do cities like Dushanbe, Bokhtar, and Khujand experience electricity rationing regularly? If so, how do people stay warm? One article said electricity rationing is planned to be phased out by 2027, do people trust this to actually happen?

Looking for my birth mother

hi!

unsure of where to start, so I’ll start as early as I can. I was born in February ‘97 in Moscow, to a woman named Velayat Saidovna Ahmedova. She was born March 9, 1967, and has two children, both born before me. I have a lot of information on her, but am struggling to find her. Her passport from 97 was a Tajik passport, and the address associated with it was an address in Dushanbe. I have it written like this:

Tadjik Republic, Dushanbe, Firdousi Str. 191-2

I’ve been unsuccessful at searching for her or the address online, so im looking for any help finding it or writing it differently, or any tips for searching like local apps, websites, databases etc. ANY help is greatly appreciated 💛

Had a great half day tour with tour guide Fazliddin

I actually shocked that this guy u/Fazliddin1995 has some bad comments, I personally had a great experience with him this afternoon in Dushanbe. I reached him two days ago and he accepted my request real fast. During the tour he tried his best to make me feel welcomed and tried his best to fulfilled all the requirements I asked (Such as posting a postcard athough noone had requested it before). If you are looking for a tour guide in Dushanbe, I definitely recommend this guy!
