I've recently accepted a masters in UL but live in Cork city area. From past posts, I'm gathering that the road is quite dodgy but am considering commuting each day. This is only for a year and though I don't have the timetable yet I know I'll be in class for at most four days of the week.

I am also waiting on getting my licence which means I'm considering public transport for at least the first three months or get accommodation until I pass.

What are people's experiences with the travel including the use of public transport and any advice for a student on a budget? Thanks

21 m from India, I am moving to Limerick city in mid-August for my master's from the University of Limerick, I want to make some friends before I come and want someone to help me teach some Irish slang and suggest some cheap but good shops for clothes and groceries, my budget is around €1000- €1100 including rent and bills.

Car was stolen in Riverbank Annacotty overnight and two young people were spotted trying front and patio doors in other houses in the area between 2-4am.

Double check your doors are locked overnight, valuable are out of sight and any battery operated cameras are charged and connected to wifi/storage.

Well I don’t need to explain the state of the housing crisis but is it a shot in the dark to be able to find pet friendly accommodation in and around limerick? I’ll be working in UHL and will potentially be bringing my doggo with me. Would prefer of course to have my own place but does anyone even know of Facebook groups or anything remotely where I could room with people that don’t mind pets/ other pet owners? I'm an international student and many of the times I've had to go out there are always kids about and around which isn't the problem. But they come block the way and shout obnoxious things to my face and follow me a bit doing the same thing. It's the same if I go out in a group as well so is this how all Irish kids are ? The older people seem a lot better and are very welcoming and friendly to speak with but are they also doing it out of professional courteousness?

We’re relocating from Nenagh to Dooradoyle next month and are trying to find childcare for our 4-year-old daughter.

She currently has a place in Nenagh, but we’d really like to find somewhere closer to home in Dooradoyle. We’ll be living in Huntsfield.

Does anyone have any recommendations, or are places generally impossible to get at the moment? We’re happy to pay for the right childcare, so cost isn’t the main concern.

I know people are going to say go to the council, they are the council have no space for them but they're engaging with the housing officer continually. They have Hap and all that they just need to find a place
