Hello everyone,
My african grey Bobby has been missing since day before yesterday.
We all are absolutely devastated.
Unfortunately one person thought it would be an amazing cash grab, told us he has Bobby since Saturday evening and requested us to pay for Petrol then blocked us.
If anyone can assist please let me know
We will pay a reward on the safe return of Bobby
Last seen area - Ormonde

Hi everyone 😊
I recently got my licence and a new car, and tomorrow will be my first time driving to work by myself. I’m excited, but also quite nervous!
I’ll be travelling from Craighall to Sandton Central. It’s about a 15 minute drive, but I know traffic can make it longer. I’ve got my L sticker on, so hopefully people will be a little patient with me.
For anyone who drives a similar route, do you have any advice for a new driver? Is there a route you’d recommend that’s a bit easier or less stressful for someone still building confidence?
Thank you!

Hi everyone, looking for some restaurant suggestions for father's day. Preferably more in the east, focused more on seafood but with some chicken/meat options. Really loved Codfather in Parktown but I see its closed down, are the other two locations any good? Thanks!

I’ve been to Johannesburg quite a number of times now but it’s always been with other people, I’ve never had to navigate the airport (O.R Tambo) by myself and I’m gonna be traveling in this weekend and I wanted to find out how the fuck do I navigate that big airport LMAO.
I’m coming in internationally, I’m not sure where to turn how to go do what I need to, how to turn to this side or the next where to do anything and I know there’s people and signs to help with that but people at the airport in Johannesburg have always been mean to me. Idk what it is and it just freaks me out from asking and if they are nice, they’ll want money and I’m just not THAT nice lol. Help a friend out!!

Hi all, the other day a car was driving behind me so viciously I was scared it was going to bump into me (it was on a downhill) so I turned and took the turn to sharp. Though nothing of it and moved on with life.
This weekend I drove on a gravel road and today going to gym I looked back at the car and saw this on the left of my car.
Not sure how expensive it will be to fix but if anyone can help me with some suggestions? Around the Robindale area.

Good Day All,
I am looking to buy two scooters that will operate around Sandton, register them with Takealot/Mr D and will be looking for drivers, and I would like to know a few things from those in the know or have experience.
I tried reaching out to Takealot via X/email/calling but no answers. If anyone has a direct phone number I can call or email I can use, I'd really appreciate. And if there someone who knows someone who has experience driving for Uber Eats/Takealot/Mr D, please halla.

Has anyone noticed how hazy the air has been today and yesterday? I stay in Bryanston/Randburg, but it seems to be all over the place.
The air quality index when I check online, is also showing very high air pollution measurements. Does anyone know the source of this haziness and pollution?
...and on that note, any recommendations for air purifiers will be appreciated.

Hello, I (26F) am an American student and will be temporarily living in JHB for the next several months. I'll be staying in Rosebank which I know is a pretty safe area, but I wanted to get a sense of the extent to which I can walk to places nearby on my own. I've been reading lots os posts that say essentially don't walk anywhere alone, but I'm not totally sure whether this applies literally anywhere, any distance, or if there are some places I can reliably walk around on my own. For example, would it be safe to assume I can walk on my own a few blocks to the grocery store in Rosebank? Any advice would be appreciated!

Yesterday morning I heard a weird aircraft engine noise, looked up and saw what looked like Ventura bomber. The twin tailplanes were a kind of brick red, with the same colour on the wings. It disappeared towards the East Rand, and when I googled it afterwards, I could confirm it was a Ventura. But I couldn't find any reference online as to a flying Ventura owned by anyone in SA. Can anyone throw light on this?

Hi! We’re relocating north from Kensington as our family expands. We were set on Parkview but have struggled to find the right home, as we need one that is or could be handicapped accessible. We saw a great property near the intersection of Hoylake and Greenfield on the north end of Greenside. But I know much less about this neighborhood.
If you live there, do you like it? Is there a good sense of community? Is it safe to walk during the day? I took a walk there on a Saturday afternoon and thought there was quite a lot of traffic, but the home itself is so suitable we worry about passing it up! We’re coming from a wonderful street with devoted, diverse residents and are hoping to find the same. If you've lived there recently or currently do, please let me know what you think 😄

Does anyone know how to get another set? My car is parked safely but is not at my house. Also have my office keys in the car which I need tomorrow 😔
UPDATE: thank you everyone for your helpful replies. When I realised how costly it could be, I went and retraced my steps and found my keys lying on the road under a pile of leaves. They must have slipped out of my pocket when I got out of the car that I was in. Very grateful and amazed that they were there!

Hi All. I was born in Zimbabwe to a South African father and a Zimbabwean mother. I’ve lived in Zim all my life and my birth was never registered in South Africa. My father passed away in 2004. I now want to apply for citizenship by descent and get a late registration of birth. I think I have all the necessary documentation. I have my father’s ID book, his Zimbabwean death certificate as he died in Zim, I have his birth certificate from Home Affairs issued in 2020. I also have all my documentation. I also have my parents marriage certificate etc. Will this be a complicated process as he is not around and there’s no way to do DNA? Also, if anyone has done a similar process I’d love to hear about it and which Home Affairs offices in Joburg one would recommend for this sort of thing. I appreciate all the info. Thanks!

I’ve lived in Joburg most of my life and am honestly a home body. I do dinner/drinks or concerts with friends now and then but I’m looking for a more regular hang out spot.
What I’m looking for is community-type spaces - like a third place where I can chill, maybe read or draw, make friends with regulars or even learn a new hobby or something. Am I dreaming or do spaces like this exist here?
Edited: typos

Does anyone know of a reputable place where one can rent a laptop for a month? Possibly without a credit check? My current one works alright, however it freezes often while I'm teaching on Teams which isn't a good look professionally. I just started a new teaching job and I will only be able to purchase a new laptop in a month or two so I need a sturdy laptop I can possibly use until then. Friends and family aren't an option as they don't have or know anyone who has an extra laptop I could borrow. I have heard of Rentoza as well but the reviews are quite bad. Any help would be appreciated!

Looking for a family-oriented church in the Bryanston-ish area. Not too big and a church that lands up feeling like home.
