Is it worth a try ?

Hi all , I wanted to know if anyone has successfully hired a helper/nanny from Facebook . Has anyone had success or in any case what was your experience?

Interview, references and your gut will tell you what you need to know, and if you are comfortable to leave your children in this persons care. The lead source is irrelevant.

I personally don't trust Facebook for finding someone who'll be in my home while I'm away- too many scammers. Usually I prefer referrals (from friends/ their helpers) or go with a reputable agency.

Look for a post from a previous or current employer.

Yes I have hired good people from Facebook. It is always from former employers posting on those I love X neighbourhood pages. I actually phoned the former employer to get a verbal reference before I did a trial day + interview with the person.

Doesn’t your suburb have a residents group? It’s usually best to hire someone trusted from there. Also limits randoms coming in and out of your estate

Always get referrals when employing someone who will have access to your private life.
