Question Rent a laptop

Does anyone know of a reputable place where one can rent a laptop for a month? Possibly without a credit check? My current one works alright, however it freezes often while I'm teaching on Teams which isn't a good look professionally. I just started a new teaching job and I will only be able to purchase a new laptop in a month or two so I need a sturdy laptop I can possibly use until then. Friends and family aren't an option as they don't have or know anyone who has an extra laptop I could borrow. I have heard of Rentoza as well but the reviews are quite bad. Any help would be appreciated!

DM me. I could give you some free advice on things you can do to optimise your laptop. Even a low-spec laptop should be able to run Teams plus a few other apps. Don't worry, I'm not gonna try selling you anything.

Sluggish laptop bingo:

  • power profile set to "efficiency" even when plugged in.
  • McAffee or Avast is installed.
  • Multiple antivirus apps are installed.
  • OneDrive is trying to upload many files to the cloud.
  • Google Drive is also installed and trying to sync unnecessary stuff to the cloud.

Network bingo:

  • Ancient ISP-issued WiFi router
  • WiFi router is on the other side of the house
  • WiFi network overlaps with neighbours

If this was AI which it seems to be, it's really bad! LOL!

How so?

Random blanket troubleshooting when they specifically asked about Teams. 95% of these wont fix the issue.

It's only for a week but Techmarkit with a R500 deposit that you get back when you bring the laptop back. https://techmarkit.co.za/pages/laptop-library?srsltid=AfmBOoqzuBrKG1qmfca-AixesEn-tSRHox3lbTeHrT2RptRzuJPhx0H0

So you don’t want a credit check (which is a business’s method of checking your reviews) but don’t want to use a company that has some negative reviews?

I said possibly without reviews because I know my credit score is not good at the moment. I was asking for assistance of places I could consider but if you don't know and all you want to do is pick on my situation then please kindly ignore

I’m just pointing out that you shouldn’t dismiss a company based on the negative reviews.

Most people don’t leave feedback if they got the service for which they paid.

Depending on the platform, I'm more willing to trust a company with some negative reviews... All humans mess up, so every company that exists has pissed off at least one of their customers at some point...
