Question Has the reboot actually exceeded your expectations?

When the BBC announced Gladiators was coming back, I was excited but also a bit sceptical. Reboots don't always work, especially when people have strong memories of the original. Looking back now, do you think the revival has lived up to expectations, exceeded them or fallen short?

Question Question about Gladiators Live VIP tickets

Thumbnail

I'm wanting to buy tickets to the live show which includes access to the pre-show party, including meet and greet etc. When I was looking at the tickets in Ticketmaster, none of the different packages mention access to the pre-show party in any of the information sections, this is only mentioned on the generic page about VIP/experiences.

What I want to know is, do all of the different packages under 'Premium Packages ' include access to the pre -show party? Have included a couple of screenshots above for Manchester show as an example

Discussion How we feel about each Gladiator: Series 3: Week 9: Sabre and Viper

Final week of this series so that leaves us with the last two Gladiators: Sabre and Viper!

Sabre's been having a much better series than in series 2 with what feels like a much better winning streak, especially as she's now got her first win on the Wall. I also feel her cat theme is much better aligned with her actual personality this time around. The little fangs on her gum shields and her joke about having nine lives felt much better than hissing after losing an event. All round, great improvement and I hope this is how we see Sabre from now on.

King Viper's been having his best series yet! His moments feel a lot better with him speaking more and he's gotten a nice set of wins to be able to take him more seriously. Hang Tough, Wall and some critical moments on Collision means he's shaping up to be quite the aerial specialist! I've definitely enjoyed him a lot more this series and I hope this trend continues, hopefully with more aerial events!

What do you all think of Sabre and Viper?

Discussion The Conquer ring or Whiplash as seen on US and UK before - most likely returning event for bbc S4?

I know the filming of S4 is getting closer and closer, and they've probably already locked in the next new introductions for the upcoming filmings.... but if we still had the opportunity to speak for the production, BREAKTHROUGH+CONQUER and WHIPLASH seem to be some of the most wanted returnees - am I correct?

* Breakthrought and Conquer was originally a staple event on the Syndication's American Gladiators. It also featured on UK's live events, but for some reason, was shelved with no real explanation.

* Whiplash has been a staple event on both incarnations over the atlantic. Offering some high-tensed tug-of-war with a dogbone attached to both participants. Clearly favors the bigger builts unlike B&C!

On the BBC show, glads like Fury, Bionic, Apollo, Diamond, Steel and Cyclone respectively could master one of these games. Maybe Athena too!

Of course, lemme know if you root for something else to return instead!

Question When will 2026 filming (series 4) happen?

From the last couple of years I believe by now tickets for filming would have already been available to register for.

Do we think filming has been delayed this year?

Question I think Gladiators works because everyone secretly misses unapologetically fun TV

No complicated plot twists, fake social experiments or constant negativity. Just massive athletic people launching contestants into orbit while families watch together shouting at the TV. Feels weirdly refreshing compared to loads of modern entertainment.

This was posted by the BBC earlier today on their story.

Its worth noting on the story they only tagged Sabre, Bionic, Athena and Comet so that might be the ones attending

Not necessarily the strongest either some of them just have that energy where you know your confidence would disappear the second they started sprinting towards you.

Question Gladiators Experience Meet & Greets - July & August

Most of July and early August doesn't have any Meet & Greets, but late August does. Anyone have any intel on if they'll be added later, or if they're just not happening?

I imagine it's because of filming, but it'd be a shame if there's no M&Gs for that whole time

Video Paid an extra tenner for the Gladiators Experience videos. My toaster has got a better camera than this!

It was a great day, the staff were all fantastic and they've obviously put a lot of work into reconstructing the games in a more generally accessible way, but I don't know why on Earth they've scrimped on some ยฃ20 Middle of Lidl webcams for the souvenir videos!

My advice, take a friend to record you if want a momento.

Discussion How we feel about each Gladiator: Series 3: Week 8: Fury and Steel

Good morning, got a busy day today so won't be able to reply too much but it's another Saturday so it's the next week of this series. This time it's two of the nicest people, Fury and Steel!

Once again, Fury has been incredible, even with that slight injury she had. We all know her well at this point at the nicest Gladiator and the contrast of her ferocity in the events makes her fun to watch. I do hope the injury wasn't too bad though, it looked like she was in a lot of pain on her last Edge and I do worry about the way her leg got caught on Suspension Bridge, that looks a dangerous hazard.

Steel once again is one of the quieter ones but he still holds quite the skill for the events. Adding Hang Tough to his event list is just logical for a CrossFitter and it feels weird it's taken until Series 3 for him to appear on it. Still, as I mentioned before, I find his quieter nature does make it a bit harder to recall major moments of his, especially when he's one of the later guys for this series.

How do you all feel about Fury and Steel?

Question Now that the series is over, how do we actually feel about the new Destruction event?

Series 3 gave us Destruction, the event where contenders charge down lanes smashing through those massive 8ft barriers using body power, a battering ram, and climbing mechanics. While it definitely delivered on the "fast and fierce" promise, I felt like the Gladiators didn't have quite enough defensive leverage once a contender got momentum. Did you think it was a worthy modern addition to the classic rotation, or did it feel a bit too much like a mini-Eliminator clone rather than a true Gladiator vs. Contender showdown?

Question Going to the gladiators experience on saturday

Im going yo that gladiators experience on saturday in Birmingham. My kids are only young so we booked the spectators tickets so we could still do the meet and great.

Im now a little worried we are all going to be bored as none of us are contenders. Has anyone been and what was you experience? Is there stuff spectators can do?

My kids are wanting to make signs and bring them? Is it that kind of vibe? Also what's the meet and greet system like is it hours of queuing?

For reference my kids and 3 and 6.

Discussion Can we talk about how iconic the original 90s Duel platforms and pugil sticks were? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Post image
54 Upvotes

Look at the absolute size of those platforms and the classic checkered pugil sticks. As much as I enjoy the huge production value and polished look of the current BBC version, thereโ€™s just something about the slightly chaotic 90s aesthetic that felt so iconic. Do you prefer the modern arena style now, or do you miss the retro look of the original series more?
