I hope no cllr objects to this. Soc dems and Fine Gael have a history in the city. The developer is Butler. Cllr Daniel Butlers cousin so maybe not.

New tech startup in Limerick looking for early users to build momentum.

Hi all,

I am from Limerick born and bred and I have recently decided to start my own venture and take the risk of going self employed.

I have developed an app that allows service seekers to connect easily with Service providers.

Its a chicken and egg situation at present as its early launch and I need Seekers before providers come on and I need providers before Seekers come on.

Please have a look at let me know what you think.

Profile creation is free and there is also a marketplace that you can use for free to sell what ever you want (within the law of course)

I need the people of Limerick to help me out here it takes less than 5 mins and this platform will take off and when it does you will all see the value of it.

Its available on google play store for android users https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.base6980c097b07df91b3ecbecaf.app

Or Apple/IOS use www.servicesoar.com as its pending apple approval.

Thank you all and Luimneach Abú.

Film Club

Hi everyone, I just returned to Limerick after a few years away. I'm a bit of a film buff and was wondering if there are film clubs or places I could go to watch the newest films, whether arthouse or otherwise. Thanks a lot!

Shameful to see that the Limerick td can’t even properly answer question on why Irish government is allowing Russian company to operate in Limerick. It’s astonishing and shameful

Where to purchase Electronics in Limerick/Ireland?

I lived most of my life in India and a couple of years in the USA where big electronic shops are frequent and everywhere. Is that the same in Limerick? I’d like to purchase a good gaming monitor which can also be used for study (as a secondary screen for laptop). should I rather be using Amazon or some other e-commerce websites?

University of Limerick

Hi everyone, I’m an Erasmus student from Ankara, Turkey, and I’ll be studying at the University of Limerick for one semester. I currently live in a city with a steppe/continental climate, so I’m curious about what the weather and general climate in Limerick are like between January and July, especially in terms of rain, wind, temperature, and how difficult it might be to get used to. I’m also wondering which areas would be the most practical for a UL student to live in, such as Castletroy, the city center, Dooradoyle, or Raheen, and how easy and reliable it is to get to campus by bus. I’d also like to know how safe Limerick is, especially at night, and whether there are any areas I should avoid. Besides that, is it easy for Erasmus students to make friends, join student societies/clubs, and get involved in social life at UL? Finally, what would be a realistic monthly student budget including rent, groceries, transport, and going out? I’d really appreciate any advice from people living in Limerick or studying at UL.

It doesn't require any personal information but I really appreciate any answers and additional insight from people who currently/previously lived in Limerick :)

EDIT: thank you so so so much to everyone who took my survey!! You guys seriously saved my ass, I got all the responses I needed 😁

TUS or UL for Cybersecurity

It's been on my mind for a while whether to go to TUS or UL to do cybersecurity. It always interested me but I've heard UL is very difficult in terms of lecture work and what not. What would be the pros and cons of both to anyone who has done either CS or even better, cybersecurity in either of the colleges.

Place to rent

Anywhere in or around Limerick as I drive to rent with a small well trained quiet dog. From September to end of November I’m a masters student studying Occupational Therapy and would only be there Monday-Friday.

I am looking into buying a house here. Anyone know if it’s a good area to live in? And how much is worth paying for a 3-4 bedroom house? Thanks!

Accommodation needed for two nights a month-MIC grad student

Hiya,

I’m a mom in my late 30’s from Co. Galway and I will be entrolled in a teachers masters program at MIC starting in Sept.

I have 8 weekends of classes each semester for the year. The classes are Friday evening and Sat morning. So I’m looking for accommodation for 2 nights (Friday nights) per month from Sept-early May.

I‘m not too fussy but I’m just looking for somewhere for myself to stay those two days. Could even be a couch and I could bring my own bedding. I would arrive around 9pm then leave the next morning around 8am.

Would anyone have any advice on finding suitable accommodation? Maybe I could stay at a student rental as most students go away for the weekend? It could help them by reducing their rent. As a full time student, I’m on a budget and don’t want really to pay for hotels.

Thanks a million for any help!

Car service recommendations

Car needs an annual service soon. I went with SRG last year and I was happy with the service provided but I’ve heard some people on here had bad things to say about them which has caused me to think about going elsewhere. Any recommendations?

Where do you get diesel?

I’m switching from petrol and heard some horror stories from the garage about some petrol stations. I know diesel is more sensitive to bad quality fuel, and I did get dodgy petrol once or twice already.

Doctor for work related Burnout/Stress?

Hi all, can anyone recommend a GP or walk-in clinic in Limerick that is good with work-related burnout/stress?

I'm happy with my own GP, but the next available appointment isn't until mid-late June and I'd like to speak to someone sooner.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
