It checked all the boxes. And then it became STW and then that became something else entirely too. I would kill for the original vision of Fortnite.

Def should check out Ephienea (PSOBB) or Clementine if you want that PSU fix instead both are still extremely active, doesn't heal the damage NGS has done for the series, but they are really well taken care of private servers.

As long as it’s nothing like New Genesis’s development it should be good.
I cannot stress enough that New Genesis feels like the developers themselves didn’t even want to work on the game.
It still feels like a proof of concept at best, and every developer stream would focus on completely superfluous features like the house building system, instead of the core gameplay. Not like, oh we’re just also working on this other system, but instead if you didn’t know any better, you’d say that the house building systems are the actual game, and the real game is just a bonus feature , based on how they presented the game

PSO2 would have been fine if it had launched in the US without 10 years of shit to sift through to find the game....and if it had been less heavily monetized. I'd prefer PSO3 to be a buy to play game, but I don't know if CEOs have really internalized that live service games are not the cash cow they appeared to be.

That would make sense to me. My theory has always been they'll do it like Tales games, where you play as a male character throughout, but the female character is the "main" one and the story revolves around her. Then maybe some brief segment where you play as her (like in FFVII), but frankly I wouldn't even expect THAT much because it'd throw off Persona's calendar system which is the core of its gameplay.
Either way, the people who expect two protagonists that you either swap between at will or you pick one at the start of the game are gonna be sorely disappointed (and also have not been paying attention to how Atlus handles female protagonists in the Persona franchise, or Metaphor which is vaguely related).

Maybe they're throwing a curveball this time and doing some spin on how Persona 2 was with Tatsuya and Maya, but like you said I'm not really sure how that would work with the calendar system. Imagine bricking yourself on social links in the event an mc swap segment throws a giant wrench into that.

That seems like it'd be nice. Though I hope they won't go their standard route if they did something like this and have the mc be "silent" as the fmc would be the "talking" one. Please, no more fake silent mcs. Metaphor was in the right direction though they kind of landed halfway as you still sort of... barely talk. It almost feels random.
But with what you said seems the most reasonable if they go "2" mcs, I don't think they'd do swappable but that would be pretty ambitious and cool for the next game since it's been god knows how long. But I do agree on your final point with how Atlus has handled them too.
Either way only a week to go to find out more info potentially.

Early leaks about p6 mentioned the idea that there was a femc who'd be playable for portions of the game. Imo this probbally means a separate segment(maybe like a more fleshed out the answer) where you play as femc.

Assuming the part regarding Persona 6 is true, I'm more and more convinced the female protag will mostly only be playable during main story segments and dungeons but they will only have 1 protag for social sim free roam.

Original: Because it's Midori/Mystic. The guy who pretended to be a Japanese woman because he was hoping the new name would distance people from his past actions and be more likely to get people to give him some info or coerce people into giving him info that he can then turn around and leak and therefore spread his sphere of influence or just make up things to get eyes on them.

This is the first time I’ve seen a new VA leak be mentioned anywhere in this thread. All that was said was a new in-game model for Sonic. Where did this VA claim originate from?
Side note: I personally never thought Roger Craig Smith fit as Sonic and I wouldn’t mind a recast. Roger is a great VA though, he does a great Batman.

this is midori era leaks btw, I was sent this footage in 2024 when I did the initial digging into midori, all clout chasing as per usual - do not use this JSR footage to prove someone has modern information. I'm not going to comment on the validity of current sega projects, but I can at least tell you this clip has been circulating for 2 years.

The obsession with needless details about other peoples jobs is the dead giveaway if the infos from that group usually.
Leakers normally just give release dates and stuff even in private or just send me the trailer. No one obsesses over say, "wow this model looks great" or "wow they updated the slack channel description". It's just weird and feels like someone stalking their favorite twitch streamer.

The "Sonic in Fortnite being discussed in the past, but not anymore" bit is something anyone who's been following rumors could guess tbh.
There were some sonic themed items in a previous collab (but no skin), and there have been rumors related to music licensing issues for the collab. There was another rumor about how Sega refused to let Fortnite change sonic's model to fit a playable character as well.

there was an ex fortnite leaker called adirafn (ex epic employee) that said sonic the hedgehog would be coming to fortnite but they could also be the reason why the collab got scrapped due to leaking it
so far most of the collabs adirafn leaked came true, some collabs like minecraft could have been fake to catch leakers, so it might also be the case for sonic the hedgehog skins
now that being said sonic has already collabed with fortnite but it was only kicks (shoe cosmetic) and car cosmetics
