Fail Stacked my first ride (story+need tips)
Bought my first ever dirtbike last week, brand new 2026 yz450fx,
Now I know many are already saying the classic "dont get a 450 for a first bike" i didnt want to spend all that money on a 250 then have to upgrade in 2 -3 years to a 450
So first ever bike, never rode one, brand new 450,
Now im not an idiot, so I said to everyone imma take it really really slow, so I dont loose control and loop out (believe thats the term for going over the back)
Went for a little 30 min ride 2 days ago, real easy, learnt the bike, didnt go above 2nd, loved it, but then it got dark so called it a day
So today (about 10 hours ago) decided to go for my first proper ride, went to the local offroad area with the boys and all was going well for 3 hours, still getting very used to riding
Then I rode back to the car away from the boys and was just cruising, real slow, 1st gear,
Went over this little bump and as I got to the top noticed a giant tire rut/track on the other side, so I hit my front break, then asoon as I did relised if I kept my speed id just go straight over it as it was only 1 car tire wide, so took my hand off the brake, but as I did, slipped and went full throttle, straight up, of the back,
Boys found me 30 mins later, in the ground (pic attached) , broken clutch leaver (bloody pissed but apparently this is common)
Got to hospital , leg broken, knee broken as tried to catch myself when going down
SO WHY I NEED HELP
So when I went for my 1st 30 mins ride, and then the bug ride before I crashed today, I noticed alot of the time I would slip or the vibration from just the suspension and bumps would cause my hand to pull down as I am gripping tight, and give it full gas,
If I didnt hit the tiny bump the second I was trying to take my finger of the front brake, I would have had control, but hand slipped and full throttle happend
So..... thoughts?
