Any good vanilla server recommendations, every one i join seems to be a catastrophe with no direction, either nobody talking or everyone screaming on the radio, 20+ squads of 1 guy etc

Are you jointing the Soviet teams? Because you should be.

I usually join which ever team is down but I'm glad to see that the Soviet team being the organized one vs the US one being awful is still a thing

It is but I have noticed a balancing recently. In the sense that the non-base building, no supply running, no comms using etc etc merchants are moving to the Soviet team.
