If we had PVS5s or PVS7s I’d be happy with vanilla

PVS 5s could be a captain rank unlock and PVS 7s major, to balance soviets can get the 1pn58 scope for the 74N and PKMN at sergeant, which while is night vision its massive and useless during day.

They could use the TN-2 NVGs that were sold to them by the French.

I meannnnn it is in 1989 and the French was pretty anti-NATO from 1966 on 🤷‍♂️

Reforger is already alternate history what’s a little bit more?

The French were always pro NATO, just anti American

The reason the NATO HQ was moved from Paris to Brussels was bc of France’s anti NATO stance

I wouldn't go so far as to call it an anti NATO stance, they were still in NATO and were definitely camp West

They pulled their entire military command structure out of NATO, I’m not saying they were anti west but they were not fans of NATO.

IRL would they have gone as far to sell night optics to the Russians during the Cold War ? No. However they clearly were ok with it after the fact bc they sold a ton to them after the fall.

All I’m saying is they do this a little earlier.
