I found this in my father's belongings. It says 'Elinox' on one side of the blade, and Victorinox/Switzerland/Stainless/Rostfrei on the other. The logo confuses me as I can't find a Messerli company that was founded in 1876 (I assume that's why the date is there). Any help appreciated!
Thanks. Any clue on the logo/name? It seems there was an Albert Messerli born in 1876, and the Messerli company wasn't created until the 20thC (I know the name is 'little knife' but it looks like a company/person name).
Messerli Informationstechnik was a company founded in 1876; it changed hands several times and has now been fully absorbed into Canon Production Printing.
==> joint headquarters of Océ Switzerland AG and Canon Switzerland AG was located in Wallisellen, near Zurich. In 1997, Océ acquired a majority stake in Messerli Informationstechnik (founded in 1876), which was subsequently renamed Océ (Switzerland) AG in 1998
Thank you for that!! It seems it's connected to the current Messerli.live company. Unfortunately, given the toxic levels of 'corporate speak' and 'hot air' on that website I had to go and lie down for a while. However, I really do thank you for the lead 😄
No, you're mistaken. Messerli.Live has nothing to do with the defunct company "Messerli Informationstechnik." The name "Messerli Informatik" might be even closer, but they even state to make it clear: There is absolutely no connection!
There are more than 3,400 people in Switzerland with the name "Messerli." With just over 9 million inhabitants, that’s a fairly large percentage.
