Identify Help identify this flag in Germany

Post image

Found this flag cut out sticker in the small German town of Irrel. Can someone identify this flag?

Definitly a neo-nationalist flag and the owner was probably a fascist-sympathizer when you look at what was under this sticker. Somewhat weird to put the prussian eagle and the german tricolor together as historically those were symbolic for opposed positions but together they are defiinitly supposed to show pride in German history (even if you don't know it well yourself)

right ideologies have always revised history to spread their thought

As did the left-wing ones.

Zhelyu Zhelev wrote a book about Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. The Bulgarian Communist Party banned it because the systems of governance it described were almost identical with the communist regime.

Or maybe he left-wing regime wasn't as left-wing as it claimed. No way, a country could lie about being socialist!?

This brother doesn't deserve the downvotes 😔 he hates rewriting history for the left or right

You gotta keep with the narrative that revisionism, zealotry, and other bad things only happen for the bad people

1

u/TalknuserDK May 30 '25

You’re not wrong, but let’s be fair: revisionism to advance your own narrative is quite common. It’s just easier to call out when it’s assholes doing it.

Every power structure in history did that.

u/AdLopsided2075 May 29 '25

There's representing facts a little differently, wich is what a lot of countries did or are doing, and then there's book burning levels of rewriting history. Wich is what only extreme groups, like fashist, do.

3

u/beaverbo1 May 30 '25

The chinese did it. The soviets did it. The romans did it. Literally every power structure tried it. And no, it wasn’t just “misrepresenting some facts a little”.

1

u/AdLopsided2075 May 30 '25

"The extremist did it. The extremidz did it. The extremist did it" wow, really proving my point for me

and what about the commies?

2

u/Kitsa_the_oatmeal May 29 '25

what about them? they're awful too but no one was talking about them lol

1

u/beaverbo1 May 30 '25

They also rewrote history.

The problem is that new antifa is also using symbols of communism in their protests so you cant really divide those two antifa and communism currently go hand by hand. That means that all of them are fighting bad ideology(fascism) with another bad ideology(communism) and those same people often call fascist somone that has different views from them.

Media and people are giving them support and love while they despise fascist when in reality they should not promote or love either of them and calling people fascist or nazi just because different political views is diabolical and shouldnt be normalised, but hey everyone has freedom to speak whatever they want.

1

u/Kitsa_the_oatmeal May 30 '25

true, those two and anarchists. i was jus saying that was kinda sorta whataboutism

-2

u/theRealestMeower May 29 '25

They should, rise of far right is intrinsically tied to increasing radicalism of the left. Progressives rather.

1

u/Kitsa_the_oatmeal May 30 '25

well yeah but not in this discussion

1

u/AdLopsided2075 May 30 '25

"Wich is what only extreme groups... do."

Alright fair, you got me on that one

Somewhat weird to put the prussian eagle and the german tricolor together as historically those were symbolic for opposed positions

Just shows that those idiots don't actually know what they're rooting for as long as its against "the gay agenda" and "the establishment"

Modern day fascist Russia is doing the same with their historical symbols.

Prussia coexisted with several statehoods with black, red and gold.

1

u/JaskaBLR May 30 '25

You don't have to be a fascist sympathiser to hate Antifa tho

2

u/[deleted] May 30 '25

Not liking Antifa isn't everything (I would not associate myself with them either) but putting this sticker over one that speaks against fascism is quite suspicious and with the symbolism of the sign itself I have little doubt

1

u/eg0n_621 May 30 '25

What is neo-nationalism? Nationalism wasn't over at some point.

1

u/[deleted] May 30 '25

it wasn't over but nationalism to prussian identity was pretty much dead in Germany so this is likely an attempt to revive an identity that was dead. Maybe I misused the word slightly but I hope you get what I mean

-99

u/Kofaluch May 29 '25

when you look at what was under this sticker.

Just such a good strategy, name your political organisation "anti-bad guys", just do whatever you want with it for your own gain, and anybody who doesn't like it automatically gets labeled as a "bad guy"

Basically modern antifa. They don't have any connection to original antifascists in 1930-s.

60

u/xixbia May 29 '25

So aside from being utter bullshit, it's also utterly irrelevant.

That person decided to put their sticker over a sticker that says 'against fascism'. I'm sorry, but if you don't think that's a clear sign of their ideology I got a bridge to sell you.

Except we don’t know what it said entirely. What if it said to kill conservatives so you stand against fascism?

These stickers are very often by far-left extremist groups as well, so why is it ok to be radically left?

The german pride flag is also a standardized sticker, yet here you are complaining

I still don’t know the sticker. I have seen them support violent actions before. So a call to violence is ok? 1935 called with its youth groups

13

u/MrDukeSilver_ May 29 '25

Right. Tell me again who is the one group that’s always there to actually face fascism in the streets?

-16

u/Fantastic-Country-51 May 29 '25

U mean more like "Tell me again who is the one group thats always there illegally masked and face everyone who is not on their far left (terrorism) side in the streets?"

13

u/[deleted] May 29 '25

Ah yes, rally’s supporting a Faschist party can accurately be described as „everyone who is not on the far left terrorism side“. Totally accurate!/s

u/Fantastic-Country-51 May 29 '25

Votes show, what sort of people looking here. Bullseye.
