Question Vegan Wet Cat Food
Hey all! I am considering attempting transitioning my cat to vegan.
Are there any wet foods you recommend that are available in Canada?
I have found a decent dry food that I am going to try (Nature's Hug) but would as well love a wet option. If there isn't a decent wet option, I will likely just give him the Vegan dry food plus a meat based wet food.

I think the currently available options are Evolution Diet and Wild Earth in North America. Benevo Duo, Marpet V.E.G., and Veganpet might be hard to find in Canada.
Virtuous Vittles for cats is said to be launching later this year, I think but am not sure it'll be wet food.
I'm tracking the options near the bottom of this page: https://www.stisca.com/blog/howtoplantbasedcats/

Virtuous Vittles will be wet food too, so keep an eye on them through their email list or instagram.

Oh my gosh, thanks! I never heard of them before, I just placed a pre-order for cat food.

I'm in the USA and my cats all love the vegan kibble from Evolution diet. I've got 5 TNR fails and picky lil suckers at that. The wet food from them was a $120 full fail- the neighbor's dog went plant-based for a couple weeks b/c I could only find it by the case at the time. Their website now sells individual cans, if they ship to Canada I would highly recommend trying one (mine came with a lil packet of nooch to help with palatability- my cats just licked that off and left the food). Try this site https://vecado.ca/collections/vegan-pet-food/cat?srsltid=AfmBOorcPi9gLbDC3egoIxs67zfx2HmqmAFo7GrJJGjVIgIgdryv4PqA and I will pray for your wallet and mine on this search for wet food lol

My cat loves the Vegecat recipes. He also likes Benevo duo but it's hard for me to get now.

You can also mix equal parts dry vegan kibble and water then let it soak covered in the fridge an hour to make wet food. My (vegan for whole 2 year life so far) two cats love it! I top it with a few crunchies (just the same kibble but dry) just before each time I serve it for crunch and teeth scraping.
There are also several brands of actual packaged vegan wet cat food on, as other reply said, Vecado.ca that look like they would work.
You can also join r/vegancats and ask there, but these option should cover you. No need at all to feed wet animals to your animal!

Benevo duo, I believe you can find marketplaces online that will ship it if Benevo doesn't ship directly

Hello, I’m in the U.S. and use Evolution Diet. The wet cat food is on the expensive side in my opinion. Some neighborhood dogs got loose recently and devoured a can when I put some out. The feral cat I tend to also enjoyed it, while my in-home cat companion prefers dry food (she eats their brand of dried food). Wishing you and your companion the best of luck in your decision making!!

I’ve been meaning to ask almost the same question but for the US. I want to transition my cat to at least half vegan and was wondering which would be best to switch out—the wet or the dry food? Maybe later I would fully switch depending on what I observe with my cat and what read about the topic.

I would look for either, and see what makes most sense and where you have most options. Ideally you switch out the most amount of meat, especially named meat (this is les byproduct and directly competes with human food).
Have a look here for some pointers on how to switch: https://www.stisca.com/blog/howtoplantbasedcats/

I am also Canadian and have a cat and a 100lbs dog who have both been plant based their whole lives.
Vecado has everything you need. They have maybe 5-7 types of plant based cat wet food. Most of them are duo cat/dog. Essentially they just add more vitamins and minerals to it to ensure it matches cat minimums.
My favourite are the evolution brand ones because they’re really moist and easy to scoop out of the can lol
