Administration Drama & Questions Potential cheating issue

Hi, I'm a first year bachelor in Business Analytics, I have just recive an email from my lecturer said that my resit for mathematics 2 have a potential cheating issue and it had been reffered to Exam Board. I didn't do anything wrong in the exam so i'm really scared now. What should I do?

First off, don’t be scared but do take it seriously. As far as I know a first offence is let off with a stern warning. Know a few people who plagiarised because of stupid mistakes and this is what happened to them. I would ask on what grounds the potential cheating issue was found because you say you have no idea. Really try to see if you didn’t use genAI when you shouldn’t have etc. Ask for a timeframe as you’d like to know if it will be handled before the resit or after. Taking the resit and finishing the course is probably your safest bet. But do keep in mind that you want to know why you were flagged as cheating.

Just wait until they send you the message to visit them. You just need to explain what you did, because they can't kick from the UvA without evidence. You are at a better position then they are.
