Runners who have non running friends, how you deal with that?

Running and UlL hiking are similarly solo sports. It's better to have ruthless competitors than friends. Friends don't help you set FKTs they slow you down with conversation, and their problems.

I’m confused. How would someone kudos me on Strava if they’re a non-runner?

Followers only, that’ll filter out the orthodontists. I don’t need no leaderboard validation.

i talk about running constantly. Like all the time. I steer every conversation into running. I make myself totally unsufferable to be around if the person isnt also into running. Eventually all my friends and my new spouse will be into running. Problem solved

I had about 10 friends but 9 of them weren't ultralight so I ghosted them. Having a lot of friends isn't ultralight anyway

if you're a runner in a group of non-runners, and you've naturally created some distance you want to extend your lead while you can. you never know when one of the others wants to close that gap.
don't let them take your lead from you, keep them out of range of attack.

You don't actually have friends. You have an audience, for what they see as a tragic comedy.

I never leave my basement because that’s where all my gear is. What are friends?

Running has “naturally created some distance over time.”
Big if true.
