TU Darmstadt MSc iCE WiSe 2026/27 – Profile Evaluation & Decision Timeline?

Hey everyone! I applied for MSc Information and Communication Engineering (iCE) at TU Darmstadt for WiSe 2026/27. I completed BE ECE from Anna University with 7.56 CGPA and currently have around 2 years of experience as a Java Spring Boot Software Engineer. I also published an IJCRT research paper related to an AI-based Smart Blind Stick project. I passed the OAT, submitted APS, and my documents were received on April 15, 2026. My current status is ā€œApplication in the department,ā€ and I’m currently on around Day 33 of waiting. Would love to know how my profile looks for to get admission and how long decisions usually take for similar applicants.

Language requirements for application

English Version

Hello everyone,

I am considering applying to [TU Darmstadt](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0), but I am a little confused about the language certificate requirements during the application process.

From what I understood, the university offers a DSH preparation course. I would like to know whether this course is compulsory. I also read that one of the requirements for joining the course is having German language skills at the B2 level and receiving a conditional admission offer from the university. Is it possible to apply for the language course with a B1 certificate instead?

I would also like to ask:

What is the minimum German language certificate required for admission to a degree program at TU Darmstadt?

Is it possible to attend an external language course instead of the university’s own language course?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Deutsche Version

Hallo zusammen,

Can a non-EU BSc Physics graduate get into an MSc Aerospace Engineering program in Germany?

Hi everyone, I’m a final-year BSc Physics student from a non-EU country and I’m really interested in pursuing an MSc in Aerospace Engineering in Germany. I’ve noticed that most aerospace programs seem to require a bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, so I’m a bit unsure about my eligibility.

I had a few questions:

Is it possible for someone with a physics background to get admitted into an MSc Aerospace Engineering program in Germany? Have any non-EU students with a similar background successfully made this transition?

How do universities evaluate missing engineering coursework (like fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structures, etc.)? Are there ways to compensate for these gaps (extra courses, certifications, ECTS credits, etc.)?

Would applying to related programs (like engineering physics or mechanical engineering) be a better pathway into the aerospace field?

Any advice, personal experiences, or university suggestions would really help. Thanks in advance!

MOI certificate enough for English proficiency or IELTS/TOEFL needed? (Indian applicants)

Hey everyone,

I'm planning to apply for MS in CS at TU Darmstadt for winter semester. My bachelor's was taught in english so I have a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate from my university.

I checked TU Darmstadt's website but the information is inconsistent, one page mentions MOI is sufficient, while another page only lists IELTS/TOEFL and other standardized tests without mentioning MOI at all. So not sure which one to trust.

Also saw a few posts mentioning that even if the university accepts MOI, the german embassy still asks for an english language test separately during the visa appointment, regardless of the admission letter mentioning english proficiency.

My questions:
1. Is MOI accepted at TU Darmstadt as proof of english proficiency, or is IELTS/TOEFL still required?
2. For the visa, does the embassy ask for english proficiency proof separately or is MOI enough?

Would really help to hear from anyone who has been through this.

Anyeone here studying Mathematics at TU darmstadt for bachelors? I'd love to hear your honest experience

Hi everyone,

I’m currently considering doing my bachelor’s in Mathematics at TU Darmstadt, and I’d really appreciate hearing from people who are either studying it right now or have already finished it.

I’d be especially interested in hearing about things like:

  • how difficult and proof-heavy the degree feels
  • how the workload is in the first semesters
  • the quality of teaching, tutorials, and support
  • flexibility with electives / Nebenfach
  • what you like most and least about the program
  • whether you would choose it again

Any other remarks would greatly be appreciated as well

Honest positives and negatives would both be really helpful.

Thanks a lot in advance!

We built a course rating platform for TUDa students

Hi everyone,
Over the past couple of months, we’ve been building a ā€œcourse shoppingā€Ā platformĀ for students where you can share honest feedback about the courses you’ve taken.
I did my Bachelor’s in Informatics and I’m now halfway through my Master’s. I noticed this problem early on in my Bachelor’s and it only got worse every semester.
Choosing courses can be a real headache when none of my friends have taken them before. And also, the official Uni course descriptions often don’t tell you much (with a few exceptions). I usually end up registering for everything available and then spend the first 2–3 weeks trying to figure out what to keep.

Few discussions with some friends made us notice that the problem actually is the same for all students around many universities.
So If you struggle with this too, or you’re still undecided about what to take this summer semester, check us out:Ā askyourclass.io. We have recently added TU Darmstadt and you might find feedback from someone who’s already taken the course you’re considering.

It would also mean a lot if you could share your own experience on some courses. Things like: how to best prepare for the exam, are exams repetitive over the years, whether the content was actually useful, what resources helped you most, how helpful the tutorials were..
Basically, the kind of real talk you’d give a friend.
So far, I’ve convinced people I know at my uni to share what they think but it's really hard to get students at TUDa to contribute when you don't know that many!

I’d also really appreciate any feedback on the platform itself, what to improve, what to add, what’s missing. Not all courses are listed yet, so if yours is missing, just DM me or comment, and I’ll add it right away.

Thank you so much and hope this can help someone out there!
