Discussion Toddler Outings When Classes End
My kids are 5 and 1. I’m home with the one year old every day and the 5 year old will be off school for the summer soon.
In the mean time our favourite baby/toddler activities are done until fall 😢.
We’re filling our time at home with a mix of playtime and chores for now, but toddler is going stir crazy without our playgroups to break up the week and once big sister is home it’s going to get crazy here.
So give me your best go out and do stuff activities.
I have passes to some museums. A few playgrounds in walking distance. Splash pad and pool driving distance. (It’s still pretty cold here, but will be jumping up to hot and sweaty soon enough)
What else are we doing? These kids love to be out and about.

My girls are 4 and 2.
We have one mom friend we meet up with once a week! Otherwise we plan to check out playgrounds all around the city, spray pads, do a river walk, a bike ride, getting lots and lots of icecream and bubble tea, checking out the farmers market, the zoo, a nature walk scavenger hunt. Then some fun things at home is playing in our mud kitchen, sidewalk chalk, water fights, a tea party, picnics, paint a birdhouse.
We try to get out of the house most mornings! So I always pack snacks, water, whatever else we need. Then come home for lunch, nap for my 2 yr old and quiet time for my 4 yr old. I find this makes our day go by fast.

That’s about the schedule I aim for too. Out in the morning, back for lunch and nap/quiet time/mom has a coffee alone or I collapse exhausted and go crazy.
What’s a River Walk? Sounds fun. Sadly all our play groups shut down over summer. But playgrounds and splash pads are on the list for sure, along with picnics and ice cream. I haven’t tried bubble tea with them, that’s a fun idea.
No zoo here. Birdhouse is another good one I hadn’t thought of yet.
