Head the ball Parade and donations

Post image

Parked the car and walked to our regular Chinese takeaway last night. While waiting for my order 2 of the parade lads came in with a bucket for donations, set it on the counter. Demanded that the lady should make a donation. She said no- due to the amount of customers she had to turn away yesterday, she lost income as the road was closed for the parade. They became threatening and told her she needs to donate to local people or there “will be consequences”

Is it not enough that the roads are closed to local business but workers and owners are also being threatened like this? I don’t care if people want to march but im sick of this shite

Same story for Newry as it is for Derry. Time local people got off their arses and started protesting these parades if they dislike them so much. No point moaning. Although a lot of people are scared of being called "sectarian" if they do.

In Derry we reached accommodation after many years of talks, standoffs and riots. And now the economic downside is offset by the loyal orders having to ask nicely to walk around our walls. Worth it.

Aye. Ours. Seeing as unionism built a road over them in New Market Street, and bearing in mind unionisms sectarian actions during the civil rights campaign, and their glee at Bloody Sunday (and hypocritical ongoing support for known murderers), its best we look after them, as unionism definitely don't respect them. Just say thank you, and we'll say failte romhat.
