Head the ball Parade and donations

Post image

Parked the car and walked to our regular Chinese takeaway last night. While waiting for my order 2 of the parade lads came in with a bucket for donations, set it on the counter. Demanded that the lady should make a donation. She said no- due to the amount of customers she had to turn away yesterday, she lost income as the road was closed for the parade. They became threatening and told her she needs to donate to local people or there “will be consequences”

Is it not enough that the roads are closed to local business but workers and owners are also being threatened like this? I don’t care if people want to march but im sick of this shite

Aside from their own wee burger van and Tesco, it does fuck all for the town.

Thing is, the majority of people going to those parades are just there for a good time. I passed through it and it was all grand. It only takes one or two "hard men" to really bring down the reputation of the whole community.

I'd recommend the Chinese Takeaway give their footage to the cops. That sounds very much like extortion.

Could you rely on the cops actually investigating and bringing charges? Doubt it

They wouldn’t do anything but it would have to be recorded and could be helpful in objecting the parade next year

The RUC is on their side anyway, nothing would be done.

Exactly my point, half of them probably attend their own orange marches
