What's frustrating to me is that I don't see trans people hate the Republican party enough. A lot of the discourse is "well Democrats don't fight hard enough for us," meanwhile REPUBLICANS ARE ACTIVELY TRYING TO KILL YOU.

Sometimes this subreddit really is deranged about trans people. There’s no way you can seriously believe trans people aren’t voting for democrats with Assad margins.

Gosh if there’s one thing that unites 99% of trans people it’s hating republicans.

This subreddit is really bad handling disagreements.

For all the calls to nuance, this place often displays a very strong 'with us or against us' mentality. Criticism, doubt or gaps in knowledge are seen as treasonous.

And the worst part is: this is partially justified. It's nigh impossible to overstate how evil the GOP is. It's an actual threat to the human civilisation.

Yes, the Democrats a basically saints compared to them. But lets not pretend they actually are. It's their fault after all.

Yes I said it! Downvote all you want!

Of course the Republicans have agency! Every day we see a new detail of how preplanned all of this was.

But let me ask you this? Did Democrats do anything to stop this? Did they do anything about Fox News plunging a third of the country in permanent mass hysteria? About the climate change denial? About social media spreading delusions and hate? About large swaths feeling abandoned by the government and ripe for apathy or radicalisation? About the legacy of racism and red scare thoroughly poisoning American politics?

I'm sure they did. But obviously this wasn't enough. An evidence-based community like this should judge actions by their results rather than intent. And the results say that the Democrats failed. Liberals coasted on their success for to long and got blind-sided.

You can be angry at the masses all you want. You're justified even. But it won't do anything. Instead think how you should do better. History rewards pragmatism, not righteousness.
