XL Unpopular Opinion - Andrew Shayde

Just watched Naked and Afraid XL: The Colombian Badlands...

This guy Andrew Shayde tapped 4 days into a 40 day challenge for a small thumb injury? I feel like that's a weak move. Sucks when someone like this takes the spot of another survivalist.

He also tapped on his 21-day challenge for ticks in his butthole.

Why do they keep bringing survivalists like this back? Am I the only one who feels this way? What do you guys think of Andrew?

The thing that gets me is the confidence it takes to come back after anal ticks.

I find Andrew an adorable, relatable sweetheart, but I wish he'd lasted longer on those 3 challenges where he didn't make it. Delighted he got to know what it feels like to complete a challenge at least once!

To be fair, he made his 21 days on Castaways with Heather and Patrick on his team. Those two aren't exactly associated with good communication skills.

I love Andrew. He motivates everyone around him to be real. That's a skill not many have.

He's from Kentucky like me. He's a great guy and fun to watch. But I think he'd agree with most, he's not the toughest competitor. But a million times stronger than any of us keyboard warriors. Go Wildcats!

most people on here would tap the first night. it is way harder then you think out there. no clothes makes it 10x harder

I thought the same thing about bringing in someone for an XL that hadn’t even completed a 21 (I don’t think) Why not give someone else a chance? But I have a theory on the XL’s. TPTB usually cast a few that they’re assuming will tap so the cast gets smaller by final merge

They always have to throw a few expendable in there to eliminate 1st. They know nobody is watching to see them, but they cant all be legends. So they put some shmoe im there to eliminate early.

I'm over Andrew. He was carried by Patrick on Castaways, but otherwise he taps when he has a bad night's sleep or gets a boo-boo on his thumb. And anyone who uses that much teeth whitener deserves anal ticks.
