Local resident here, posting this carefully and respectfully, with appreciation for the difficulty of law-enforcement work and the shared goal of public safety.

Nearly one year ago, Emily Pike, a 14-year-old member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, disappeared from the area of Mesa Drive & McKellips Road. Her remains were later discovered in a remote area northwest of Globe, Arizona. Her death is being investigated as a homicide, and the case remains unsolved. A reward of up to $200,000 has been publicly offered for information leading to an arrest.

This post is not an allegation and does not speculate about suspects, motives, or investigative decisions. It’s simply a factual observation offered in the spirit of civic awareness and care for our community:

  • In roughly the same timeframe, multiple serious homicides involving teens or young adults in Mesa resulted in arrests following investigation.
  • Based on publicly available reporting, Emily Pike’s case appears to be one of the few Mesa-origin homicide cases from this period that has not yet resulted in an arrest, which understandably weighs on those who live nearby and those who care about her.
  • The case involves cross-jurisdictional factors (a Mesa disappearance and recovery near Globe), which can add logistical and investigative complexity. Different cases present very different evidentiary challenges, and timelines naturally vary.

Community members sharing this information are not assigning blame. The intent is to:

  • affirm that Emily is remembered and valued,
  • encourage continued lawful tips and sustained public attention, and
  • support investigators by keeping the case present in the public record in a respectful way.

Emily’s family and community are organizing a memorial walk and vigil to honor her life and to stand in solidarity with Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and People (MMIW/MMIP). Sharing event details thoughtfully helps keep the focus on remembrance, dignity, and lawful cooperation.

If you have information, please use official tip channels.
If you do not, the most helpful actions are accurate sharing, respectful attendance, and restraint from speculation.

Thank you to the investigators, first responders, and community members who continue to work toward answers. Justice and remembrance are shared civic responsibilities.

Transparency note: This post was drafted with the assistance of AI to help ensure clarity, neutrality, and respectful tone. All factual statements are based on publicly reported information, and responsibility for the content rests with my silly human.

How far is the walk - in miles please

The walk will start at Mckellips/Mesa Drive and make its way to Country Club ‘I think’. Probably a mile or two but it’s even great to just show up at the site itself for those who can’t walk🪶

Well if the case has been unsolved, I’m not trying to cause mass hysteria but with most serial killer and narcissist, I wouldn’t be suprises if he or she attends and nobody would even know that your walking next to a killer. Just be on the lookout if you do go!

Thank you 🥲 We had a vigil for her family this year at the University of Oklahoma. I was hoping to continue our support in her name.
