Limerick should be expanded out to Larkins Cross taking over Shannon banks, Westbury and Carrig Midhe

Relatedly, I've always been told that Clare flat out refuse to allow UL open up an entrance on that side of the river because it's the University of "Limerick", even though it could ease traffic coming in from the Castletroy side.

Might be bollox, but it's engrained in my psyche as fact. :P

That was definitely one of the issues, I think it was Cathal Crowe giving out about that, but Id say the residents on the back road were pissy during the trial period.

Clare County Council and UL want to develop a new village (?) out on the Clare side of the river, afaik. Limerick are agin' it. I'm sure some sort of deal will be cut eventually.
