https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

O čia Android versija (pagaliau jau veikia):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. Aš nesu iš Kauno — gyvenu Geteborge. Nerenku duomenų, nieko nepardavinėju, ir programėlė nenaudoja AI generuoto turinio. Keliu tai į kelis skirtingus subreddit’us, nes dabar palaikome daugiau regionų, ir man nuoširdžiai įdomu gauti atsiliepimų iš žmonių, kurie šitą vietą iš tikrųjų pažįsta.

Is it operating? Some sources says so while others don't mention the suspension at all. It's so hard to find trustworthy information in English and my Lithuanian is quite poor.

Where to get fast admission in Lithuania?

Hi everyone,

I’m an international student looking for English programs in Lithuania, but I started a bit late and now I’m worried about timing. I thought admission would just be uploading my diploma, passport, and English proof, but now I’m seeing stuff about document recognition, interviews, visa steps, and different program requirements.

For anyone who applied before, how long did it take to get an offer? Are colleges of applied sciences usually faster than traditional universities? And what caused delays, missing documents, unclear scans, or something else?

Sorry if this is basic. I’m just trying to avoid applying somewhere too slow and then running out of time for visa and housing. Also, what about cities such as Kaunas, Vilnius or Klaipėda? What is the better option for international student, any suggestions? Thanks!

KTU Dorms for Internationals (Summer Erasmus Internship)

Hi! I should be arriving in Kaunas 12th of July for my Internship at KTU and I emailed the student dorm office at KTU and they told me to let them know 2 weeks before my arrival to see if there are any rooms available.

My worry is that when I ask them 2 weeks prior, they will be full and I will have to urgently find another place outside of dorms that will be super expensive and not in my budget.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about their dorms or how to go about this?

Also I would love to connect with some people when I arrive if anyone is interested :D

Butu idomu isgirsti kiek mokat, ipac atlyginimu dali silainiuose?

Austrės Kaune

Sveiki!

Ar Kauno centre yra vietų, kur galima paskanauti austrių? Bandžiau googlinti, bet nieko neradau, o eiti per visus restoranus ir klausinėti irgi nesinori.

visa process

Hi everyone! So i have a question

My current D-visa expires on June 30th. I have a summer internship starting on July 10th (already applied via MIGRIS with its mediation letter). To legally stay in LT during the gap (June 30 - July 10), I enrolled in a language course, and they just issued another mediation letter for me.

Does anyone have experience bringing two different mediation letters (course + internship) to the physical face to face MIGRIS appointment to bridge the gap? (or should i make another application on migris for my language course as well) Will the officer merge them into one continuous visa? Any similar experiences would be highly appreciated!

Discussion r/kaunas_lithuania, where do you actually eat in Kaunas?

Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Kaunas’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Nüman vs. DIA), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Kaunas’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Kaunas - I live in Gothenburg. I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Cheap daytime activities to do in Kaunas

Long story short: I'm going to spend about a week in Kaunas at the end of May because I'm accompanying someone getting surgery in Kaunas.

What kind of daytime activities would you recommend for someone who 1) is a woman 2) is alone 3) doesn't speak a lick of Lithuanian 4) is not looking to spend a ton of money.

I'm interested in history and nerdy, geeky stuff (video games, MTG, literature...) if that helps any. Alcohol is ok, but I'm not looking to get sloshed because of the things above.

Any tips about things to do/places to check out would be appreciated so I don't go stir crazy in the hotel.

Bad trestment at migration department

Has anyone else had rude or disrespectful experiences at the Kaunas Migration Center on Šv. Gertrūdos g. 7?

I recently had multiple negative encounters with one employee there regarding residence declaration. The issue was not the documents themselves, but the way she spoke to me and other foreigners. Belittling tone, scolding, making people feel embarrassed, and giving new requirements every visit instead of explaining everything at once.

I’ve also seen her speak similarly to other foreign visitors.

I’m preparing a formal complaint and I want to know if others had similar experiences at this center, especially foreigners dealing with declarations or migration documents.

Please comment or message me if you experienced something similar.

Tips for a short trip early June?

Hi, just wondering if anybody can recommend any events that are going on in Kaunas, from Tuesday June 9th to Friday 12th? My partner and I arrive the day before and after and are looking for some low-energy activities or events that we could do together.

We like political history, queer culture, Eurovision, good food and thrifting clothes. And we would be excited for a quick day trip on a bus/train outside of Kaunas if there was something nearby you think is worth seeing!

I read about the song contests in Kaunas so they might be fun, but if you have any other recommendations we would be so grateful. ☺️

KTU Intelligent Robotics Systems 2026 - Students, Doubts & Guidance

I am planning to study at Kaunas University of Technology in the Intelligent Robotics Systems program. I noticed it is a BSc degree with 240 ECTS credits, similar to an engineering program.

Since I aim to pursue a Master of Engineering (MEng) in the future, I would like to know if this program is considered equivalent to an engineering degree and suitable for MEng.

HUGE Favor Request from an American with Kaunas family roots

My paternal grandfather was born in Kaunas. His father, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents were all born and raised in Kaunas as well. My great-grandfather (whom I am named after) is one of many family members who perished in 1940-1941.

According to records, my great-grandfather is buried in the old Jewish cemetery in Kovno. I know the row and grave number of his burial site. My wife and I are planning a trip to Kaunas in October; we will go to the cemetery to pay our respects and spend a couple of days enjoying the city.

The Favor:

I am hoping that someone with a big heart who may live near the cemetery can take a photo of the headstone at the designated location and send it to me. This would be tremendously helpful for us when we arrive in person. Much gratitude in advance for anyone who volunteers. Please message me for details.

KTU dormitory

Hello! I am an Erasmus student coming to KTU in the spring semester 2027. I'm trying to decide on accomodation and would like some input, if anyone is willing. Are the dormitories in good condition? (I come from Greece and have experienced our dorms, so I'm a little scared😂). Also, what is the renting situation? Is renting a viable option? Or any facebook group/forum that you can get in touch with people looking for roomates?

Thank youuu
