Other Is Lena hated because she indirectly causes people to confront their insecurities?
So I read some interesting psychology articles about why people instinctively hate someone. People who want to hide their body because they think their body is ugly (important note: their body is not ugly, it is they who think their body is ugly) feels humiliated when they see Lena's naked body on screen ("why is this person showing the body that I always hide?") and thus lash out at Lena to avoid confronting their insecurities.

Episode Discussion šŗ The voice of my generation, or at least a voice of a generation
Look at the details of Hannahās book, never noticed this before.. Quite fun to read. (S01E01) She takes the money from both envelopes āHannahā and āHousekeepingā. But do you believe that she left the pages of her book on the desk of the hotelroom?

Episode Discussion šŗ Least favorite section of girls?
when you guys are rewatching, whatās a part/arc of girls that you usually skip or at least kind of dread? for me, itās when hannah goes off to Iowa for school. i just find it boring (def not without itās interesting/funny parts tho!) the fran arc also gets a little boring for me too.

Season 6 S06 E08 - I Finally Found the Park From That Girls Scene
I spent an entire afternoon on Google Earth trying to find a single bench from Girls.
In Episode 8 of the final season, thereās a scene where Hannah and Adam sit in a park overlooking Manhattan. Something about that shot stayed with me for years. Then the other day I saw someone here asking where it was filmed, and I fell down the rabbit hole.
People kept suggesting Transmitter Park, Newton Barge, and a few other spots, but none of them matched. So I started comparing old and current satellite images of the East River waterfront until I finally found it:
Manhattan Avenue Park in Greenpoint.
Iām in NYC this week, and today I went there myself. The strange part is that the place almost doesnāt exist anymore the way it did in 2016. The bench is gone. The skyline that made the scene so memorable is basically gone too. New towers now block almost the entire view of Manhattan. The Empire State Building barely peeks through, and the Chrysler Building has disappeared completely.
It felt weirdly emotional seeing how much everything changed in a decade.

Other This show feels like a best friend.
On my annual rewatch, and this scene tugs at my heart like a friend miming me to the dance floor. I feel like I'm watching two best friends, and in a way I am. TYSM Girls for seeing me through my twenties in the city.

Other Speaking of Shosh, this is the only couple I actually thought was a great fit
For all the frustrations with Shoshanaās shallowness, I thought this relationship made the deeper parts of her shine. I feel like her and Ray finding their way back to each other would have been a really nice evolution for her. They seemed to get each other in a way that no one else did. Maybe it was their characters and the writing or maybe it was their natural chemistry.

Mildly Related could lena have made it in 2026?
reading famesick for the first time and iām only through the first 5 chapters but itās such a surprise to hear about lenaās trajectory.
iām gen-z and didnāt find out about girls until maybe two or three years ago and have rewatched it many a time since. the vague knowledge i had of lena was people using her as the butt of a joke. i think i was vaguely curious about how she starred and directed the show at such a young age but either assumed or read somewhere that she was a nepo baby. after reading some of her memoir i know thats not the case but her rise to fame is definitely unique.
there is no denying she is a legendary talent but do you guys think her discovery and the opportunities she was given could happen today? was her success due to the way things were in mid to early 2000s when giving a 20 something a position of power was a bit kooky but not borderline unthinkable like it is now? trying to get your art out these days feels so demoralizing but i could also see myself romanticizing a time where things were equally hard. what do you guys think?

Question (RELATED TO THE HBO SHOW GIRLS) ā Girls Zodiac Signs??
Hannah - Taurus
Marnie - Virgo
Adam- Gemini
Jessa - Pisces
Shosh- Libra
Caroline - Aquarius
Charlie - Aries
Laird - Cancer
Ray - Scorpio
Elijah- Sagittarius
What do you guys think???
Question (RELATED TO THE HBO SHOW GIRLS) ā Ray and leeching onto women
I remember with shosh how ray ended up moving in due to his unfortunate housing situation and how it put pressure on them as a couple. Iām on season 6 rn, where marnie is telling Ray she doesnāt wanna fall back into old habits and he needs to sleep somewhere else. What Iām confused about is that heās got a good 10 years on them , why isnāt his living situation stable ? On top of that , why does he wanna happily merge with women he dates ? Heās lowkey codependent. I think Iām more honestly bothered by his age and thatās why I donāt think his quick lifestyle change everytime is okay .
Any thoughts ?

Episode Discussion šŗ Can we get HBO to bring back Girls for Season 7?
I just finished binge-watching all 6 seasons of 'Girls' and I'm not ready to let these characters go.
There's something about this show that hits differentāthe raw honesty about friendship, love, careers, and just trying to figure life out in your 20s. Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna feel like real people, not just characters. Their stories have so much more to give, and so do we as viewers.
I know there are tons of us out there who feel the same way. HBO's brought back other beloved shows before, and 'Girls' absolutely deserves another shot. A Season 7 could tackle where these characters are nowādealing with their 30s, how the world has changed since the show ended, all of it. It's the perfect opportunity for something fresh and relevant.
I started a petition asking HBO to bring Girls back for Season 7. If this resonates with you too, consider signing and sharing it. I'm genuinely curiousāwho else is out there wishing this show wasn't over? What would you want to see if they brought it back?
