Did you workout your first trimester?
Hi I am pregnant with my 4th, had a very active pregnancy the last time around. I’m almost 5 weeks pregnant with this one and I can’t remember ever feeling THIS nauseous and tired with my first. I mean I was super active lifting, Pilates, pickleball, etc. wondering if anyone else felt this way and if it gets better? also kind of having a harder time with worrying about everything I built as far as muscle because I went to eating over 2500 calories a day to barely being able to eat at all which I’m sure isn’t helping me.

didn't work out at all from like 0-12 weeks! I did IVF so even before I got sick they were telling me to take it easy. After 6 weeks I was just so fatigued and ill.
I was really pleasantly surprised at how I felt when I returned. I didn't feel like I lost too much strength/fitness.

I couldn’t even go for a walk until like 12 weeks. One time our cleaning lady was working and I felt bad being there in her way so I decided to go for a walk in the park nearby. I ended up having to lay on the ground for an hour.

Absolutely not! I was so very ill, I don’t think I left the couch except to go to the bathroom for 3 months. I did a few workouts weeks 13-15, got sick again weeks 16-17, and then resumed a regular workout routine. Still going strong week 34, and hope to keep going.

Also pregnant with my 4th. I did nothing beyond walking for the entirety of my first 2 pregnancies.
My 3rd pregnancy. I had to stop running from weeks 4-14. I then continued to run ~20 miles per week until 34 weeks.
This 4th pregnancy is the only one thst I have been able to continue running through the 1st trimester and it was HARD. I had built my base up to 40 miles per week, running 5 days per week and ran a half marathon (HM) at 3-4 weeks pregnant (before I knew). I ended up having to go down to 30 miles per week, 4 days of running per week becayse of the exhaustion. The only reason I pushed through was because I had signed up for HMs today (I am 18 weeks) and in June (I will be 20 weeks). It's all easy running, but it is still difficult because of the fatigue, even though my paces are slow.
I probably wouldn't have kept the mileage up if I hadn't had these races coming up and didn't have a really strong base mileage that I could afford to drop a bit. I was well-trained and my body well-adapted for these distances (I run at least 10-13 miles on my long runs, once per week). In previous pregnancies, I didn't have as solid a running base, so there was no way it would have been possible. Many runners don't run in their first trimester at all because of the fatigue, nausea, inability to eat enough to fuel + recover properly. Give yourself grace...first trimester is survival. Plenty of time to return to your preferred activities once you are feeling better!

A glass of fresh juice immediately when I wake up helped w morning sickness for me - and keeping my blood sugar up throughout the day every time I felt sick eating some fruit really helped and I was able to workout still.

I weightlifted 3-4x a week first trimester with some walks sprinkled in. I have been weightlifting for 5 years and simply lowered the weights and made sure to implement functional movements and stretching beforehand.
The nausea and fatigue was awful, but I gave myself a 10 minute rule: if I was truly miserable and nauseous 10 minutes into a workout, I could call it. That way, I at least got 10 minutes of intentional movement in! I only had to tap out about 3 times during the first tri. We are lucky enough to have a small home gym, so that definitely helped.
I'm in the second tri now, and hear me: it gets better! I've been able to increase my weights a little bit and increase my workouts to 5x a week. Fatigue is still there but not nearly as bad.

I’m six weeks tomorrow and have been walking a couple miles a day or swimming but I don’t feel like doing much else. I’m pushing 40 and don’t want to overdo it but i like staying active and my nausea hasn’t hit

I was very tired first trimester but I managed to work out 3x/week. I won't lie, it was HARD. It was like moving through mud and I has to significantly lower my weights. In second trimester I was still tired and had to nap a lot but kept working out and felt so strong and energetic while doing it. I'm now 30 weeks and I'm still working out even if the workouts are a bit shorter and more focused on mobility and staying pain-free in the third trimester.

I was so set on being so fit and so healthy 8 weeks 3 days and I can’t breathe after walking up a flight of stairs, my limbs feel attached to me by string, and nausea wakes me up like 3 times a night. But hey, heartbeat is strong so I forgive the suffering 🥹

Girl, I would puke from the exertion of taking a shower alone 😭 I also lost 6 kg in the first trimester. Every pregnancy is different and can't really be compared. Good news is that now I'm 26 weeks pregnant and honestly month 6 has been the easiest and best month of pregnancy for me so far! I have a lot of energy, finally, though my tummy is starting to really get in the way. First trimester really was miserable though.

I am 9 weeks tomorrow and close to exercising as I was. I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week (weight lifting) and soccer once, and I've kept it up but probably not getting quite to 5 times at the moment, sticking with 4. I've been tired, had issues with sleep and a little nauseous if I don't eat, so my appetite has been super high, but I've tried to keep my routine up!

For my current pregnancy, yes. Only in the mornings because that’s actually when I felt my best (probably due to timing of my meds). And I kept it very light - walking, very short low impact Peloton, and sometimes kettlebell.
I have a toddler and was able to nap when he napped, which helped.

Currently in my 1st trimester, 10+3 and although it has been AWFUL, I have managed to keep up with training x5 per week. I mainly do Crossfit style training. Luckily my husband and I drive to the gym together, so I don't actively have to think about whether I 'want' to go to the gym, we just go at the same time everyday. Some days I follow my programming perfectly and feel amazing, other days I massively scale and just go by feel. It's a day to day thing. I do (annoyingly!) always feel better after and during training is literally the only time I don't feel sick in the day.
I have lost a little bit of weight, as prior to pregnancy I was eating around 2500/2600 cals a day and now I am eating a lot less as I have awful food aversions but I am still making sure I am eating enough and having lots of water/electrolytes as I also live in a hot country.
I am really really hoping it gets easier in the second trimester!

I did what I could, which was maybe just walking daily and gym maybe once a week. It was the worst from like weeks 8-12. In my second trimester I’m able to work out more consistently and have the energy to do so!! Hope I can keep it going in my third trimester. (Currently 27w)

Pre-pregnancy and during the first 6 weeks, I was working out 8x/week plus yoga and getting 10k+ steps daily. From 6-11w, I was totally wiped out - nauseated, tired, short of breath, etc - and managed to get to the gym maybe once a week. It got a lot better at 11 weeks and I picked a lighter version of my routine back up at that point, working out 4-5x/week with slightly lighter weights and a slower running pace. Ive kept that routine up and Im currently 28 weeks.
