Imo, vacuum pens are the way to go. I can't go back to wax now after using vacuum. Only downsides is they are noisy and vibrate (some more than others). The Artdot pen is the best balance I've found on a wireless vacuum pen with low noise and low vibration.

I’ve gotten all of mine from Amazon. I don’t really have any favorites, I just buy for what they look like (I like the dried flower ones) and if they look comfortable lol

The tips on these will be closest to the ones on the little pink pens that come with most dp kits.https://a.co/d/01ZqDQKn

I got mine on Etsy. There's several lovely shops that have handturned ones. You can even get yr fave characters embedded in one. There's acrylic, polymer-clay enclosed, regular ink pens that have been converted, hybrids & 3D ones in many colors. I've got one (ordered thru Instagram, I think) that has coffee beans embedded in it! You might look on eBay & look for "diamond painting supplies." The same search will work on Etsy, too.

Best advice is buy cheap at first - especially if it's a new pen shape - you don't want to spend a lot of money on a new custom pen only to not like the feel of it. Once you've established the style you like, then you can get nicer ones. If you buy from Amazon, be careful not to return too many things, because they don't really like that.

Does anyone else actually like the wax ones? I don’t know why I really like them and I feel like the minority 😂

I prefer the wax ones, but I use the vacuum pen for AB drills.

Maybe I haven’t found “the one” in terms of vacuum pens.

I do better multiplacing with the angled tips, they were a game changer for me. Bought a set off Amazon for less than $10 , works great.

yep, putty is way better for multiplacing. Cheaper option is this one:

I got my favorite pen rn from Michaels. It comes with a bunch of different attachments. Here's the link https://www.michaels.com/product/diamond-art-led-stylus-kit-by-make-market-10712125?com_id=pdp_AlsoLike&path=youMayAlsoLike it lights up too!!

This is probably the best bang you can get for your buck. These pens are amazing and the tips are really good. If you end up getting one, make sure you order the one that has tips like the one I'm linking, the rounded edge ones aren't as good. Hope that helps 😄

I can't contribute to the pen discussion, but if there's one thing I can't live without are angled tips even for multi placers. It's so much better on my wrist and so natural like holding a pen. I tried recently to use the straight ones and it was so uncomfortable!

I suggest you get a few different types from Amazon and try them out. Then return the ones you don’t care for.

I’ve gone through several and have landed on the twist wax tip for most of my paintings . I also use tweezers and or air pen for specialty drills
