Question Does anybody else do this?

Post image

Hey!

So my current diamond painting has ALOT of black, theres been two sections where it’s been JUST black. Super tedious imo.

The first section took me like…2 weeks to finish because I hated it so much now ive stumbled on another fully black spot. A week before I have to gift it to my friend.

Anyone else section off larger areas to make it less difficult to do?

Ong yes! I make geometric designs, lines, boxes inside of boxes inside of boxes. Anything to make it less tedious

No but that is fuckin BRILLIANT! The last few ones we've done have had some large sections of either 1 color or 1 shade of colors! WE NEED TO DO THIS!!!!

I’m going to do it your way next time! The last time I had a large black section it drove me so crazy I started doing all kinds of things! 😂

Just gave me an idea to write my name in it now

I’ve been doing chevrons. Or diagonal-ing until I get to a new symbol/border, then diagonal-ing the other direction. I tried stars a few times, but I like snowflakes better. It’s amusing to step back and see the patterns.

Thank you SO much for the idea. I just started dp and am on my 4th. There’s so much pink it’s driving me crazy

This looks great though! Is it a custom?

It’s not. I got it from Crystal canvas art designs before Amy left and was having a huge sale.

I make small boxes too. Usually with release papers bc of cats. Tumble floods everywhere esp after I sweep up.

I’m new to DP, but you just unlocked a dopamine treasure chest for my brain! 🧠👊🏼

Lol, just be careful with that haha.. I'm 2 months in with almost 200 kits... it can get a little out of hand 😃

Lol. I have a hard rule. I can only have 2 kits open and being worked on at the same time. So when I see a cute Amazon dap , yes I buy it , then paint like hell to start the next cute one

Checkerboard pattern or diagonals, but I don't work a section that large. However, since you've done the edge lines and boxed the whole area, that should work out fine.

I usually do diagonal lines

I go diagonally with the diamonds from each corner and then do the separate sections it created lol or I just continue the one diagonal line until I can’t go diagonal anymore and fill in any one diamond spots and start a new line if I’m extra tired of it

I’ve made patterns. Like checkered. To make it go faster.

Yes!! It makes the large spaces of one color feel so much more bearable to me because then I only have to focus on filling in one box at a time instead of one giant box at a time (or blob?).

Haha, that's great, I don't do that, but I do place random lines all over the place and then fill the rest of the area, but this is fun idea as well 😃

Why don't you just use a multi-placer? If you don't enjoy it just put them all down instead of wasting your time one by one.

I just got into diamond painting, this is my second one and the first one I didn’t even finish because I didn’t enjoy the picture itself. It was a gift.

This is the first one ive almost completely finished. I on,y have what the kit gives me and the plastic multi placer suck!

Absolutely!!! 💯 percent! Anything to break up the area!!! You go girl! And if you are not using tweezers you might want to give them a try!

This is a set of 12 pics I enjoyed doing. A lot of black on each 1 so I did all the black 1st then the rest.

I haven't done this, but I'm going to try it on the one I just started. Night sky, TONS of black. On those big sections of all one color, sometimes I'll place the drills randomly and just see if something interesting develops out of it, sometimes I'll work in a spiral pattern from the outside in. That last drill in a big area of all over color is so satisfying!

No but I will now. That’s a good idea

I section the entire work area and then checkerboard like crazy unless it is less then 5 of the color that I am working on.

1

u/Optimal-Resort9969 10d ago

I do the checkerboard technique and the first part is a little slow but filling in the checkerboard goes fast. And I alternate techniques so it's not so boring. I did it on this one.The blue, white, and pink drove me crazy!!

u/mialunavita 10d ago

Now that I know the straight lines that come with the checkerboard method, I’m ruined for life to do anything else. It’s a “can’t unknow” thing.

I really don't know why I've never done this! Definitely will try it in the future.
