I had to include my cat, Buby, because he's my untrustworthy chaotic assistant! He loves sneaking over to my side of the table & touching anything he's not supposed to. This is my diamond painting table but my diamond painting area is all the stuff scattered around the whole living room lol 😂
OP Nice setup and organized with lots of what looks like 3D printed accessories.
I just setup my new drafting table desk this week for working on larger canvases after a couple smaller ones are done. Was using a writing desk before.
Now this MIGHT be enough natural light. I do it in front of a window with two book lights, an office light, and a neck reading light thing. Can’t get enough light!
Yes I did indeed 😁☺️ it’s the only place i had to make into a spot so I had to improvise and do with what I had haha 🤪
I actually really love it haha 🤣 although I do wish there was a bit more room, it’s a little cramped
I really like that outside the box creativity. I don't have a space to devote to diamond painting unlike my husband who has a whole entire room dedicated to his Warhammer painting hobby. But I do have a walk-in closet that I might look into converting into my little craft room, now that I see how you did yours. I have all my diamond painting stuff locked away in plastic bins. And when I'm working on something, I use our coffee table in the living room. It's not the most ideal setup.
Thank you 🙏🏼
You totally should look into making your own space in the walk in! It’s already a hella fun hobby (as we all know hehe) and it’s even better when you can have your own space and have stuff organized! I honestly feel like that closet is my escape from the real world! Only downside is it isn’t enclosed when I’m in it only if I’m not using it lol
Half of my desk and 1 drawer are reserved for diamond art. My laptop is occasionally moved from the other side to in front of the light board for videos. The notebook is ALWAYS in reach because I also do diamond art while I’m on hold with Dr offices, social security, and insurance. There is a small notepad under the light board where I track my time.
I will be posting a pic below of the storage drawer as well, which is directly behind my desk.
I got it off Aliexpress for $15. Considering the size, that was very cheap. However, it does occasionally display its cheapness; I have had to glue some of the diamonds on because the canvas isn’t sticky in some parts.
I’m smack dab in my living room, my dp work space takes up half my living room!! But I live with my mom and bf, and they both said if I was in a spare room they’d never see me!! lol But it does work out well, I can hop up and do whatever needs to be done, and sit right back down and continue dping lol

Yes, I got it from Amazon in 2022 for a little over $140 dollars! I used the pay in 4 app to buy it!!
It’s literally a game changer as far as eliminating neck and back pain!! I sit at mine sometimes all day!! lol
I learned a little trick though!!
Most of these style drafting desks are height adjustable! On the legs you can make it go up or down by unscrewing the pegs, I moved mine up so the front edge of the desk is right under my breasts, you don’t need to worry about your arms resting on your canvas, I do it ALOT with no problem, the trick is to bring the desk and canvas closer to your eyes! I only tilt it one click up, because having it that height is the best way to work!! Idk if it’s just me, but I thought I would tell you, and see if it’s true for others!! lol lmk k!?🙂👍
Its on wheels so i can move it around as needed! I have like 3x tray set ups but will probably retire these for the trays with lid organiser i got from art dot once im finished with this work. Im about 3/4 of the way through
I work from my couch on the coffee table, which is one of those lift edge tables. Because I have pets I put everything away when I’m done. The drill storage sits on the piano, light pad either gets stored in the table or if too big tucked in between the couch and the wall. If it’s a small canvas I slip it into the piano bench storage area or it gets rolled drill side out and if it fits in the coffee table yay if not it goes in the closet with the rest of the kits. Takes only a few minutes to set up or break down.
I used to use a lap desk too. Then started doing much larger canvases. Had some jury rigging with cardboard wings to make it wider, but it was tough. I love my coffee table.
Nice! I also have a permanent set up, so I only do small projects on the lap desk. I'd love a coffee table like yours, but it wouldn't work in our space
Nice! Permanent set up would be great. I know the last big one I did on the lap desk perched on the old small round nesting coffee table I left out permanently. The cats are a pain. I never left the sticky bits uncovered and was using artdot storage then, but the cats were a pain. I’d find tooth marks on the release papers. Now I’d have to keep the coffee table open and I have a hard enough time keeping the cats out of the storage area while I’m actively dotting! I’d love to have a permanent setup. There are days where I want to work on it but too lazy to go through the <5 min setup.
It was a long time coming and the whole room still needs work, but we're at a point where we have fewer and older cats, so they pretty much ignore the whole area.
Congratulations! I do have a dedicated office/craft room that I could set up but I spend all day working in there at the computer that I’m hesitant to spend my nights there too. Silly I know. I have way too many cats. There are 6 of the beasts here ranging from 12.5yo to 1yo. We need to stop rescuing ‘em.
I fostered and worked adoptions for several years. When I gave it up, I kept 11 unadoptables to add to the 5 we started with. Now we're down from 16 to 5, with at least one on his way to the rainbow bridge. It's a hard way to get your numbers down.
Thank you for loving the babies that get overlooked. I know it’s not always easy to care for medically needy kitties but there’s a special place for the humans that do 🫶
Love how organized your area is. I have a dog bed under my desk for my older dog Gizmo he likes that he gets some pets while I diamond paint. Been working on this one for about a month getting close to being done 14 more squares to go
I have a very small area because my home is very small. I'm content with everything though. The light board that I use extends my little table. At the right of my feet are a few little boxes that hold spare tools and drills. I'm sitting on an small sofa and straight ahead of me is the TV. I like putting on things I can listen to and not have to watch.
This is what mine looks like. Except it is currently missing the foldable laptop table I put over my steering wheel. I am still working so I have everything put away at the moment. 😁😁
This picture is a few months old now. But I carved out a little corner in my already small room. Since diamond painting is my only hobby anymore (I am disabled and I DP whenever the mood strikes..usually daily) I needed a spot where I could leave out my WIP and have places to put all my little accessories and such (I also just moved 10 months ago). I spent 2+ years diamond painting on a board on my bed. That required a setup and put away every day and I just didn’t want to do that anymore. I will say, having a dedicated space is so worth the space it takes up! But even in this photo you can see I have a full view of my TV and my back is not to the door. Most times I use my tablet to listen to something while I DP. I still have more shelves to go up and I have a lot of my canvases and other projects and accessories still in storage. I won’t ever have room for my entire stash to be here at home all at once lol.
Another view of my ‘DP cubicle’. That shelving there on the very right edge separates my workspace from my bed. I have the whole bottom dedicated to DP stuff, and the shelves are deep enough that on the inside there it’s all DP stuff, but from my bedside, it’s a great ‘nightstand’ space. I also have one shelf dedicated to a couple indoor plants with a plant light above them since my room is so dark. I should probably take some updated photos.
