That is pure evil. Sometimes I wonder how that gets through quality control. It boggles my mind every time I see this. I am glad you noticed it. Some DPs have the hard to see the different color circles or squares. Having difficult to differentiate symbols on the almost same color. It's nuts! I love DPing just wish all the kits could have an easy key follow. The worst ones are the dark colors with black symbols on them. No amount of light or light boards help. (Overthinking) Or it is just my eyes. Seriously, I am happy you caught it. Bc I would not have noticed.
Thanks! I know what you mean. I was petting my cat & just looking at it so I don't know if I would have seen it if he hadn't needed cuddle time right away. I guess that's why he's my assistant π
OMG!! He is adorable!! Love him!! Tabitha is named after the daughter in ye old TV show Bewitched. Simon was a CDS drop off just went with Simon vs calling him that cat or the stray. We have a new stray in our yard but we have not seen her much so I worry about her. Hubby calls her Stripes, she is a tabico.
Aww that makes sense! Buby insists on being cuter every day lol he's about to turn 11. It's been just him & I for almost 7 years so we are very close. He has such a little attitude & personality. He is constantly making me laugh. I broke my leg in 3 places & was stuck in bed for 6 months. He was right by my side since the very first day I got home from the hospital. He insisted on laying right next to my leg π€ π€ πΎ
For a stray that growled at everything (including her food bowl) turned indoor cat, Bonnie is a bit of a miracle. She literally fusses over me and tries to make sure I'm safeπ₯°
I did learn that. I couldn't believe how attentive he was to me. It was so amazing seeing him take over keeping an eye on me once we got home. After I learned how to walk again my leg swelled to twice it's size & I found out that I had a blood clot in my leg. I went 4 more months in bed. It was a rough year!
That was a level of pain I don't wish on anyone π« All I was doing was walking to the kitchen to get Buby's food at 3am & I broke my leg in 3 places, 2 tibia fractures & one fibula fracture including a vertical spiral fracture & I broke off the actual ankle bone part that sticks out. I needed every bit of his support lol I'm a recovering addict & alcoholic so I didn't want to take pain meds the whole time. 2022 was not my year π
I feel ya. I broke my pinky finger on my right hand, in three places with three different breaks. The X-ray tech made the mistake and tried to straighten my finger so they could get a clean x-ray. This was back in the 80s and I was under 10 when this happened. I screamed bc straightening my finger snapped one of the breaks causing another fracture. My grandmother, who picked me up from school, barged in and yelled at the X-ray tech. That guy never touched me again. She would not allow it. So I broke my pinky finger in three places and the X-ray tech snapped a piece off a knuckle, which is very visible. I know it is not a leg but breaking a bone, ANY bone, is so painful. The throbbing was the worst. They had to tape up and split my finger and hoped I would have full range on my finger once it healed. Yeah my doctor fiddled with my finger to get it straighter and lay flat. Now I would guess you would be drugged up or knocked out to help set bones. Not in the 80s. Bite down on the tongue depressors and have multiple ppl hold you down while they tug on your bone until it pops back in. I hate that memory. I was trying to get my friend's stuffed animal back from a bully. He didn't mean to hurt me on purpose, it just happened. I jumped up to try to grab the toy and he was swatting my hand away. Just hit square on the finger and snap, crack and pain. He actually apologized to me for hurting me, which was a shocker. My pinky is not horribly disfigured but my second joint looks weird, like off by a few degrees. Luckily I am a lefty! So it didn't really affect me as it healed up. But for six long weeks I was not a happy camper. I know leg bones are longer, they are thicker, and healing time would have been way longer.
Glad you are better, and keep up the amazing journey on your sobriety. May your other DP kits be easier. None of the shenanigans with the key (colors or symbols). β₯οΈ
Ouch! Yeah I have had brain surgery & even that wasn't as bad as my leg lol π I celebrate 14 years sober in May this year. It's been an uphill battle because I have an autoimmune disease that went undetected & has spread to my lungs, lymph nodes, liver, spleen & kidneys. Diamond painting has made my life so much better since I started because I can actually do something again. Nice talking to you π«Άπ»
Sadly, he is orange. They do that. Kidding. You can put some masking tape or painters tape on the borders and see if that helps him stop. Tabitha likes to chew on the plastic covers of mine. Not lick, chew. Plastic fiend. So I have to keep the plastic up and away from her. She still finds a way. Flipping smarty pants. Found out that she hates the laundry closet, so I hang them in there when I am not working on them. No more plastic chewing bc she can't open the doors. I have caught her in the room before I closed the doors, so I have to pay attention. Clever girl.
Forever a dumb orange boiiii π unfortunately, he loves tape and foil too. I have those sticky sheets on my couch to prevent him from scratching it and he just sits there and licks them π€¦ββοΈ I also have to keep my art in the closet but he also learned how to open doors now too. What a menace!!
Buby is a plastic addict too. I got a mini trash can for my desk to hide every little scrap I come across. When I tear a section off he'll come running from the other room. Same thing with the plastic around the top of cool whip containers & Ben & Jerry's π π
I think some DP companies use the same symbols for the same colors for all their kits, and no one bothered to check before they were assigned whether any symbols for similar colors could easily be confused. That's the only rational explanation I can think of.
I am starting to think the diamond painting companies like to torture us a bit because I have had too many kits, from a bunch of different companies, where symbols/colors end up like this. I just finished this one for my stepdaughter. 310 and 939 were s and 5 respectively. Even with a light board it was almost impossible to tell.
Diamond painting has adopted the color numbers from DMC, why can't they adopt other things from cross stitching? It's considered good practice in pattern making to have distinct symbols. Like there are certain symbols that should not be used in the same pattern because they cause confusion.
I bet, that's crazy. I accidentally put two colors next to each other. One is a longer line with a shorter line across the middle & one is an X π π€¦π»ββοΈ
I am currently doing a cavalier King Charles spaniel one and even though the dog in the picture is a Blenheim cavalier, so only orange and white, theyβve put in multiple shades of orange, so I need to be careful when I do it π€£
Lol it's my first square DAC kit so I'm glad I decided to pet my cat & noticed it. I also made this lovely mistake. These 2 ended up next to each other in the box cuz both rows have 9 boxes ππ€¦π»ββοΈ

That is so crazy!!! Seriously my nightmare!!
