My second thought it that it needs shroud to stop hex parasite

Sigh, my lack of knowledge of Mtg cards is causing problems once more, I didn't know that was a thing, I guess It would need shroud like you said. And I was so proud of this card too, damnit...

Oh no, not the card having some synergy with other cards that makes it more interesting when ran in specific decks!

While you make a good point that this does give it more interesting synergy, I think the *predatory* part of the “Predatory Loan” implies that from a flavor standpoint they want to create a situation of it being damn near impossible to get out of this loan you’ve taken out. Which I think is interesting flavorfully!

Maybe he could have it give you an emblem with the same effect as the counters? I don’t think there are any non-planeswalker emblems existing, but I can’t think of any rules reason you couldn’t have an artifact make one.

[[The Capitoline Triad]] and [[Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER]] both do and are creatures. Personally, I think the card is perfect as is.

I agree, honestly. My suggestion was only in regards to the fact that OOP wants there to be no real way out of the debt.

Emblems are sort of a last resort - or should be, because they are a pain to track since usually people don't have the specific emblems and just use tokens or whatever for it.

That's just not feasible in-game sadly. There are just too many cards and interactions.
