Probably about as good as black lotus in most decks, exception is underworld breach but 3 mana is still 3 mana

Yes well, if we ignore all the egregous ways you can cheat to not pay the interest (Which I will fix for the next version), it's basically 2 mana since you have to use 1 to pay the interest, and then for the rest of the game you essentially have 1 less mana to work with, so the longer the game the greater the disadvantage.

Not if I win the game that turn

Exactly, the same as with [[pact of negation]], I wonder how little times people actually pay the 5 mana

It pays for itself on next 3 turns.

  • T1: +2 mana for 0
  • T2: +1 mana
  • T3: 0 mana
  • T4: use Loan in response to the trigger, so still 0 mana

Or can even be +2 on t2 / +1 on t3 if you use the mana for instants in response to the trigger

The idea being you use that three mana acceleration to win the game on the spot and thus never pay the interest.

This card is much weaker than black lotus.

Is still extremely strong, and possibly completely broken, but the downsides are pretty substantial.

Can't donate a black lotus to make them lose the game

Yeah, you can build a deck around this card that you can't with the Black Lotus.

But the comment above is saying that is the same as a black lotus "in most decks", not in a extremely specific situation (that you can create).

The advantage of this card in relation to black lotus in a "normal" deck is that on the second turn it's still gives 2 extra mana, and one on the third, but you need to have the cards to try to win the game.

It gives +2 mana the first turn you use it and +1 the second turn. It nets you the exact same amount of mana advantage as Black Lotus, but with major drawbacks.

I think the best way to use it force it onto other players and prevent them paying its cost.

I mean it’s kinda like 2 mana because unless you have the win you do have to pay 1 at the end of your turn.
