Wassup. Let's talk Indian Takeaways
Look, I've been on this subreddit, I've tried the older recommendations, but I still don't feel like I've found an amazing Indian Takeaway. I'm defaulting to Chat House, but it isn't hitting what I need. I've lived in multiple places in London and always found the spot for an Indian takeaway. So there must be one in Croydon that I don't know about and I'm willing to try anywhere. Please, if there's somewhere you rate highly please comment!

Aachi on the high street is pretty damn good. I've tried them out a couple of time after Rupali Ruchi shut down.

Amera Rani, deep in South Croydon. Award winning and for good reason.

Just outside of Croydon but Inaga in the Coney Hall end of West Wickham regularly wins awards and for good reason!

Aachis is definitely a 10/10 for us. Have ordered from there one too many times and been in a couple of times.

There was an absolutely amazing place called Green Tandoori - amazing curry, good prices. I thought it shut down (their website closed) but according to another Reddit thread I found researching for this answer, it turns out it has rebranded to Delhi Kitchen.
Highly recommend, incredible food, good veggie and vegan options. I’ll likely be ordering from there myself next week!

Hang on, there was a Delhi Kitchen in Sanderstead, which is now a somewhat odd Indian-Italian place. Did the team just move?

Green Tandoori was amazing.
Looking at Delhi Kitchen menu is different and expensive.

Green Tandoori was great. The new one is not. Ordered twice and tried different things and was very disappointed both times. So I’m still looking for a new ‘local’

We LOVE Chat House. Wife and I have always struggled to have places make us food spicy enough for us and they ALWAYS hit the mark.
Happy to try new places too but Chat House is always a win for us.

Himalaya is consistently 10/10 and we’ve tried a LOT of places!

Agreed, we’ve only had takeaway though. It’s not Nepalese as far as I’m aware! It’s the one on Godstone Road

Really? My partner is Nepalese, so we've been a lot of Nepalese restaurants through the years and we had one of the worst meals there

Royal Tandoori in Selsdon is the absolute best! Check out Croydon Curry Club on TikTok - these two guys are trying every curry spot in Croydon and rating them.

Coriander in South Croydon have been consistently good for 25 years.
I used to really like Papadom in Addiscombe too - I think they're technically still around as part of Damas Grill, where Rezala used to be. They would do me chicken tikka vindaloo. 😃

Can I just add one thing... I love my lamb chops..
These restaurants sell "lamb chops" but theyre actually mutton chops. Mutton chops are tougher and larger and just arent as nice if not cooked correctly..
Absolute scammers.

SELSDON SPICE!!
That is all.
Or Planet Spice.
But the former is superior to me

Also, more of a fusion than anything but Crown and Pepper is very consistently very good too. If you go in IRL, the staff are lovely too
