I don't know why it took me so long to connect the dots and realize that the chef's daughter is one half of the middle school friends pair

It's nice that the characters get involved in more than one thing, or are otherwise connected to other groups of characters. Like sleepy girl Riko being Wako's sister.

Her name is Riko Izumi, which is also Wako's name

It was also shown in episode 3 when she fall down the stairs and her life flash before her.

That’s what I love about the characters in City. There’s so many different dynamics between the same characters to the point that you could make a whole diagram tying everything together.
