Discussion Best college lacrosse player ever?
Is Chloe Humphrey the best college lacrosse player of all time? I’ve been watching her all season and as a SOPHOMORE I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player that young and be that talented. Do you think after Chloe’s college career that she will go down as the greatest to ever do it? Or do you think it’s someone else? I want to hear from you!

All great players with 2-3 Tewaaratons. At the rate that Humphrey is playing I could see her winning the Tewaaraton for all 4 years of her college career. Unless something crazy happens. With 79 goals already this season I can’t see her breaking the all-time goals in a season record to knock off North. But I could for sure see her take out Scane’s record for most career goals. I think all the players you mentioned are legendary and deserved to be talked about in the best of all time discussion, but I still think at the end of Humphrey’s career she’ll have 4 Tewaaratons and most career points. If not the most she’ll be very close. We’ll have to see if she can pull it off.

She's not the greatest player of the past 2 years, how could she be the GOAT? She was "given" the Tewaaraton last year - Madison Taylor outscored her by 40 points. Read that again, 40 points (158-118). Maddie also contributed 53 draw controls to a circle that was dominant through the year. Chloe played with one of the other 5 Tewaaraton finalists. Somebody mentioned recency bias - the real bias is East Coast... and the fear of upsetting Jen Levy. How does one coach have so much control over the direction of a game?

Yes I agree with you! Jen Levy is a literal monster. I don’t think Chloe is the greatest of all time right now. I said “do you think after Chloe’s college career that she will go down as the greatest to ever do it?”. I personally think after her 4 years that there will be a strong argument for her to be the best college player of all time. Only time will tell though! I’m just placing my bet a little earlier that’s all lol.

She’s a beast! Most ACC titles by any coach, 46 NCAA tournament wins, and so far 4 national championships. 4th coach in history to earn a NCAA title as a player and a coach. Don’t forget the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame induction in 2021.

It's so hard to figure this sort of thing out. The game has been changing so numbers can't be measured. The shot clock did not exist until recently which killed the stall ball game. Stick technology made some shots easier than they used to be. There were no time served penalties for a long time. The current zone defense limits scoring very often.
Pick someone per era and you'll be more likely to find agreement, maybe.
