If you do, maybe let them know this is not only illegal, but extremely dangerous.

Horses fall in trailers. All the time. While I’m hoping they had this horse tied, those ties (and usually the halters) are designed to break.

This horse could fall at any moment and fall out of this unsafe and filthy trailer.

He was getting on 55 from Millville.

So just imagine you’re driving down 55 when 1000lbs of horse comes flying at your windshield.

Cumberland County You should know Vineland City Council President Paul Spinelli crashed out when asked about possible financial ties, interrupting a citizen’s public comment about the data center, then threatened to waste taxpayer funds on a lawsuit against private citizens he knows he can’t win

Livestream link for the February 24, 2026 council meeting.

Thanks to Nicki G. and Sustain SJ for the clip!

Mr. Spinelli claims the Vineland city council was legally mandated to approve DataOne’s controversial PILOT agreement.

Vineland’s city council appeared noticeably defensive about concerns they are being personally enriched by DataOne and it’s business partner, Northeast Precast. Locals are wanting to know if any elected officials hold stock in Nebius, a publicly traded company which will be DataOne’s sole tenet.

It’s unknown what specific online comments got under Mr. Spinelli’s skin but something he saw online has clearly ruffled his feathers.

A resident asked if the DataOne DC is going ahead and already operational. A city council member suggested it’s a train going down the tracks.

At this phase, the Vineland DC is partially operational, hooked up to city power. DataOne aren’t producing their own electricity at this time because they haven’t been granted the required NJDEP permit to operate their natural gas burning Bergen engines.

The DataOne/Nebius DC will need to produce it’s own electricity to meet investor and client (Microsoft’s) expectations — the Vineland grid doesn’t have the capacity required to power the entire data center. DataOne’s CEO Charles-Antoine Beyney told residents at the January 2026 town hall that his company would be producing 85% of the electricity for the data center from their Bergen engines with the remaining 15% being purchased from the power company.

Locals are expecting a formal public comment period hosted by the NJDEP once DataOne submits a draft permit.

Cumberland County Come out to voice opposition to gigantic AI Data Center in Vineland

Vineland City Council Meeting Monday, November 10 @ 5:30 pm

It is vital that residents show up to voice opposition to the massive data center planned for Vineland. 1. The immense amount of water needed will further deplete the aquifer already stressed by drought. 2. The reasonable electric prices we enjoy from our Municipal Nonprofit Electric Company - the only one in the state - will be jeopardized as the proposed data center will hoover up double the capacity our electric utility produces. This will force us into the for-profit market for our electricity needs. 3. On a broader scale, this data center won't provide any local jobs, but will contribute to the trend of AI taking jobs away from working folks. 4. So who will profit? Microsoft, Amazon, Apple and any company looking to cut labor costs in order to line the pockets of corporate CEOs.

Vineland residents have much to lose in this bargain. Please show up at City Hall and be heard.

Cumberland County Vineland town hall on DataOne/Nebius data center, residents voice concerns : "We don't know this guy"

More than 100 residents packed the Landis Theater in Vineland, New Jersey on January 21st for a town hall hosted by DataOne. The company’s CEO, Charles-Antoine Beyney, sought to inform the community about the project's potential impact on water, electricity and the environment.

Dozens of residents lined up to question Beyney about the claims laid out in the company's slides, with many residents pressing for commitments on water use, air pollution, operating noise, and long-term accountability.

When questioned repeatedly on whether DataOne would follow through on its promises, Beyney told residents, "You've got my word on that."

Vineland’s data center is adjacent to Trout National Golf, an exclusive private golf course designed by Tiger Woods.

Yuleza Negron said trust would take more than assurances. "We don't know this guy from a can of paint," she said.

Cumberland County Hi there

I don't really know if this is weird or not but I mean who cares right? My wife and I (in our 30's) moved to Vineland a little over two years ago and my God is it boring. Nothing's ever really going on and if we do find something interesting it's like 2 hours away in North Jersey. Yes, I know we moved to a pretty "rural" place but anyone have any like date suggestions? I don't mean like restaurants or anything, just like things to do. We came from close to the Philly area so we're not looking for anything over there. Some of our interests: flea markets, hands on classes, walking trails, swimming. Honestly the best thing we've found around us so far is Wheaton Arts and we've seen it so many times now that it's getting a bit stale. So I guess I'm looking for some hidden gems around the Vineland area, I'd say the furthest for travel would be about an hour or so. Any help would be great!

Cumberland County Join Vineland residents at City Council 5:30pm to ask why AI tax abatement is stripping over $800,000 from our schools and over $1,000,000 from our county at tonight's first reading of the PILOT agreement. Oh, and Mike Trout's golf course has their hand out in tonight's corporate welfare grab also.

Cumberland County Relocating from Florida

Hi, I wanted to get some opinions from South Jersey locals. My husband has been notified that he's being transfered to Bridgeton NJ this Spring. We currently live in North Florida and have had an interest in leaving for some time, however we thought we would have more time to prepare. His employer has told us most people live 30-60 minutes away do to the violence in the area. When I look at the stats, there seems to be less crime per 1,000 residents than where we are currently. Here's a little information about our family. We are a couple in our mid 50s. We have 1 child that will start community college in the fall. We have a senior dog and cat. We are an interracial couple. (Honestly racial diversity is one of the most important things we are looking for.) We are neutral about religion. We are left-leaning, but are fine in a purple community. We own our home here, but are looking to rent for a couple of years. We can pay 2,000'ish in rent and need at least a two bedroom. I've been looking at apartments in Glassboro and Vineland. Do any locals have other communities that would be a good fit? Are there any places we should not look?

Cumberland County March 21 rally in Vineland demanding answers about the data center

Like a lot of people across South Jersey, I’ve been really concerned about the 300-plus megawatt data center project in Vineland and the questions it raises about energy usage, water consumption, environmental impact, and the lack of transparency in the approval process.

At the February 24 Vineland City Council meeting, I spoke during public comment and raised concerns that many residents have been talking about. My main point was simple: projects of this scale deserve serious public scrutiny and clear answers for the community.

During the meeting I raised the question of whether any current or former NJ public officials involved had received compensation connected to the project.

The reaction was wild. Council President Paul Spinelli interrupted me and threatened to sue me for slander, saying: "I won't win the case, but you'll pay".

When a community member asks questions about a project that affects South Jersey in so many ways, the response shouldn’t be legal threats. We deserve open discussion and transparency when major decisions are being made.

That’s one of the reasons we've organized a community rally in Vineland on March 21 alongside Sustain SJ, to make sure our voices are heard as we demand answers about a project that will affect this area for decades to come. It’s time for our community to speak up and hold politicians accountable.

Here's the link to RSVP, join us in Vineland on March 21 at 2 PM at the Albert V. Giampietro Memorial Park. See you there!

Cumberland County Vineland Data Center Report

Thumbnail drive.google.com
139 Upvotes

I’m sure most on here are already but for those who aren’t aware of the Data Center and its potential impact on our community, here is an overall report detailing information compiled from multiple sources to inform the community.

Key findings include:

• No Environmental Impact Study was ever required — for a facility nearly DOUBLE the power consumption of the entire city of Vineland.

• No NJDEP air permits have been granted, yet construction began in early 2025 and Phase 1 is already operational.

• The site sits on a Wellhead Protection Area above the Kirkwood-Cohansey Aquifer — the drinking water source for over 1 MILLION South Jersey residents.

• Water usage estimates range from 1.1 million to over 200 million gallons per year, with no independent engineering study completed.

• The site is approximately 200 feet from sensitive wetlands near Manantico Creek — with no independent environmental assessment.

• The facility's 36 natural gas generators will emit NOx and other pollutants 24/7 — in a community already designated by NJDEP as environmentally overburdened.

• The community was never meaningfully consulted — most residents didn't even know this project existed until construction was already underway

This isn't about being anti-development. It's about demanding that our community gets real answers and legally binding protections before this goes any further.

THE NEXT CITY COUNCIL MEETING IS TOMORROW — MARCH 10TH.

City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor — Vineland City Hall, 640 E. Wood Street

Pre-Meeting Conference at 5:00 PM | Meeting begins at 5:30 PM

Public comment is welcome at the start of the meeting. Each speaker gets 5 minutes. Show up, state your name, and make yourself heard.

Our aquifer doesn't get a second chance. Our wetlands don't heal overnight. Show up on March 10th and every other chance we have to share our concerns with city officials.

Cumberland County Datacenter opposition continues in Vineland tonight

Join residents tonight at the Vineland City Council meeting, City Hall 5:30pm.

DataOne has submitted another revised plan, now showing a giant LNG tank.

Did you ever see an LNG explosion? It has a 2-mile burn radius and leaves methane to pollute air and water.

This sucker is right next to a neighborhood!

Join us for a moratorium on this build until a, now required, environmental impact study has been completed.

But, you'll have to talk fast, as City Council has cut public comment time from 5 minutes down to 3 minutes per person.

As always, follow Sustain SJ on Facebook and Instagram.

At the last Council meeting, the 6 million dollar loan to DataOne for two cranes was tabled, but tonight it's on the agenda again. Join Vineland residents tonight to speak truth to power about what is in the best interest of the people of the City of Vineland and urge council to deny this loan. More info can be found at SUSTAIN SJ on Facebook.

Cumberland County Whats the "catch" with these 60-100k manufactured homes that are in trailer parks?

I seen some listed for 2 years now, they look really nice, and are in actually incredibly nice neighborhoods..

What's the catch? The mortgage says like 500-700 for most of them, and of course from what I've researched the lot rent is roughly 400 dollars per area, so why aren't they being bought?

Hell with first time home owner, 15k down on a 70k house is insane right?

Hey guys! I’m a member of a grassroots group called Sustain SJ, working to protect our communities from the impacts of AI data centers. This coming Tuesday, April 7th, the city of Millville will be considering an ordinance to ban AI data centers within city limits. If you’re able, please consider coming through! The effects of data centers are much farther reaching than just the immediate community where they’re located. And if you’re interested, Sustain is always accepting new members! You can follow us on Facebook and Insta, or reach out to me for the Discord invite.

Ps I know I look like a bot account, I got locked out of my longstanding account and finally just made this new account so I could share this info lol

Cumberland County Whats the deal with Pagans MC?

I was working at a wawa in Cumberland county earlier and had this dude yelling at me that pagans don't pay for coffee. I've seen them around before, but they've never seemed to complain about paying for coffee before and typically seemed nice enough. Seeing one get up on me was new though. Are they something to worry about, or are they something to watch out for?

Come support your city! These data centers will only have negative impacts, we need community voices! Will your property values be affected? Electric bills go up? Gas bills? Will there be a water tower? How is the town benefiting from this project?
