starter sound system

Hello, i'm very new to sound systems, I wanted to know if art welter's keystone 18" sub would pair well with 2 the box pro Achat 110M, or is it better to make diy tops for a better price, im also not extremely good at woodworking so any more simple suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you:)

At first i'll jist try to build a single sub and maybe buy 2 tops, and later expand it if i need to. The problem with needing an additional driver and amp is too big for my budget :Dd, storage and deployment is not really an issue

If your budget can stretch to it, I'd build two subs & one double kick/mid/tops. 2 x 18" or 2 x 21" Paraflex ELF's & a V2 2x12 will cover you from 28hz - 22khz in a 3-way system. You'll then have the proper kit to build upon from there on, & will only require 1 decent amp to drive the ELF's, a smaller decent amp to drive the kick/mid-tops, & a good LMS DSP to drive everything.

would be great if I had the money, but thank you for the suggestion :Dd, im trying to fit very tightly into 2k for my first system, doesn't really have to be great:)

After a quick calculation, for 2k - 2.5k you'll be able to achieve your aims if you build the 2 x ELFs & 1 x V2 2x12 cabs yourself, & use the recommended HOQS drivers which are far cheaper, but near the equivalent of leading industry components.

In terms of amps, you only need one powerful Admark DSP amp & a smaller Admark amp to handle your kick/mid-tops. At this point you'll have a solid foundation on which you can build from. The balance will be for distros, cables, leads etc.

Ohh i looked it up, but it seems that the V2 2x12 doesnt really go high up in the frequencies so that might be a problem, maybe you have any other recomendations for the top, but maybe i just want too much for the budget i have :Dd. Still, thank you a lot for helping

The V2 2x12 has dual 1.4" compression drivers. Are you looking at the correct cabinet?

it seems like this is an upgraded version with the horn in the middle, because the original plans dont have these compression drivers
