Ehhh, it has it's moments but the G Willow Wilson series is far superior, and not that dated.

If that's what you have access to then go for it. It's not Kamala's best run, that would be her first two runs by Wilson, but you can start with this just fine. Don't sweat it. If you don't like it that's the beauty of comics. That there are several various runs by different authors that just might click for you. I only ask that you don't condemn the character by one bad go if you have the chance try their other stuff to see of they work for you there.

Everyone else is correct. Start with GWW. Saladin Ahmed has some pretty great stories and introduced some valuable concepts to Kamala's canon that should be included in future runs. However, he included many of the characters from the original run, but you kind of may get the feeling like he didn't fully get the characters completely, if you started with GWW. If you start with Magnificent, Kamala is mostly fine and accurate, but her community wouldn't stand out as feeling developed, and that's one of her story's best features.

Now, maybe you don't want to start at Ms. Marvel #1. Maybe you don't vibe with a slow start. Maybe you want to see her in action right away. In which case, look at this list I made and posted to League of Comic Geeks. It needs some updates, but it's a sharper focus on some story highlights and they're mostly from GWW.

There's also Marvel-verse, a trade paperback that collects some curated stories that Marvel decided as a publisher were good reflections of the character for new/interested readers. Use Marvel-verse TPBs for when you're not sure where to start for a few characters, but you know you want to read them specifically. You don't have to track down the physical books from Marvel-verse yourself -- League of Comic Geeks tells you what issues are collected in the TPB, and then you can look them up on Marvel Unlimited, ComicX, or wherever you read comics. The TPBs are just a reading guide.

Happy reading!

If you really wanna fall in love with Kamala read her original run and her champions run. That’s what made her my favorite character of all time. Shes characterizes amazingly in those runs. Then everything else will be you trying to find more Kamala content lolll
