I would try the Blasket near 59th I found it better and more consistent than Dead Rabbit but it was neck and neck

The conversation around best Guinness pours has become a complete joke for imbeciles. It is logistically insanely easy to pour. Guinness rep will come out to the bar and consult with you on anything and everything to dial it in. There are countless bars in NYC with interchangeably good pours of Guinness. The real reality is that the formulation of the beer itself is different in Ireland and the UK due to USA strictures on pasteurization. Please just be normal for once. The best Guinness pour is a solid pour that costs less than $9 so you can drink 6 of them back to back.

Every drop of Guinness Draught sold in both the US and Ireland is brewed at the St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland, and shares the exact same recipe. The persistent rumor that the US version is a different beer or pasteurized while the Irish version is not comes down to freshness and distribution rather than brewing laws.

I am always open to new information but would appreciate if you could verify this by citing sources. The vast, vast majority of German and English beer imported into the US, whether in bottle or keg, is flash-pasteurized for stability during the shipping process. There are few exceptions. Belgian beers tend to be bottle-conditioned, and usually aren’t pasteurized. Therefore I do not believe this is done for legal reasons, but rather out of practicality. Guinness is incredibly opaque when it comes to this information since they’re a marketing machine and want all discussion to revolve around ‘shtick’ and ‘splitting the g’ and other such nonsense. I am personally a lot more interested in technical details. So let me know.

all guinness except for Oz, NZ, Malaysia and china is brewed in Dublin. US guinness all comes from Dublin. This is from Steve G the master brewer at Guinness direct.

Dead Rabbit is overrated tbh, The Irish Exit is the same without the tourists.

I think I went on a bad night! The Irish American on John St. was a much better pint than mine at the Dead Rabbit
