Enya knows the way π
A little edit π€πͺ I just re-listened to Evening Falls and was reminded of that 'echo' in Echoes in Rain no less (these particular 'I know the way' lyrics). For the former, it is sung in a sorrowful way, being at home, knowing the way, yet feeling so far away... But in Echoes, she sings of being on the road back home, and knowing the way brings a sense of joy and relief. π
Of course, there are many Enya songs in-between these two that talk about the journey home, but it just stood out to me how much lighter Echoes in Rain feels. Being the last written/released track as Enya (the trio) it really does show that the journey, through all its ups and downs, was worthwhile. ππΆπ

I loved the edit and the reflection; if you think about it that way, Echoes In Rain really does seem like the conclusion of the journey, ending on an optimistic note β¨οΈ
