Finally feel like our setup was completely dialed in, I love sharing and I hope y’all like it too :)

Disclaimer: we were blessed with two spots worth of space because the person who parked next to us had literally no gear, parked their car and said you can have my camping space!

Equipment Yearly earplugs thread

Alright folks, is there any new technology we can try, or are we still stuck with the same either uncomfortable or ineffective earplugs? Eargasms are great at filtering out harmful noise and maintaining conversation, but they're hella uncomfortable wearing for long periods. Loops are comfy, but they're not really sound tech, just sound blocking. At this point, I'm just rocking the orange foam ones because they're cheap, comfy and I can carry a pocket of them and hand them out if anyone needs any. I just miss the Eargasm experience that first hour before that plastic starts to hurt my ears.

Yes, I sleep with the purple foam earplugs to block out the world. Sanity and sleep wins.

What're y'all using these days?

Equipment Secure Your Canopy with Guylines

Pictures taken on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 8PM.

Every year, I see posts asking for tips and tricks on how to save your canopy from inclement weather. I’m here to clear up the confusion.

Most people think they’re done with canopy setup once they stake all the feet down, but that’s only half the job. You must secure the top of the canopy with guylines as well. If you don’t setup the guylines, you have not finished setting up your canopy!

Make sure to place the stakes for the guylines at 90° to the lines for maximum torque. All of the feet stakes should be angled as well.

That’s it! That’s all you need to do!

See the blue canopy in the pictures (mine) and see the rest of the row. It’s the second to last evening and literally everyone else in my row has already destroyed their canopy. I spent more time securing my neighbor’s canopy from flying into mine than worrying about my own. We were sitting pretty the entire time.

We did NOT lower the canopy during extreme winds once! My tarp wall was up the entire time too. But you still want to check on the stakes once or twice if it’s windy.

Bring some string lights or a pool noodle to cover the guylines. They’re easy to miss and walk into.

If you’re in AC Landing, you can tie the guylines for the back of the canopy to the pod stakes that are already in the ground.

Please please please use your guylines!

Equipment Bringing the *coolest* tent ever to EF26!

I pre-ordered the FestPro SiestaXL a while back and just got a chance to try it out! This will be my best friends and I's first Electric Forest and after reading all of the posts with tips and tricks I KNEW we didn't want to be sweating in the tent while we sleep so I went on a search for the coolest tent and found this one.

It has 3 fans integrated and a lot of room for activities lol. It feels durable and stayed dark and cool in the middle of the day. I ran the fans from a jackery 300 for 2 nights and it only used a quarter of the battery.

I love everything shiny and sparkly so of course I went with the disco instead of silver. Oh my, how she shines in the light!! (I'll post a pic in the comments)

I do have a 10x10 that I plan on putting over the door area of the tent but that's purely for outside hangs/more protection from the mystery weather we will have! i know that the tarp should fit under the tent, we were just in a hurry to get it together. It rained and nothing got wet, it dried out pretty well before packing up too.

If you seen this tent and were thinking about it, just do it!

Alsoooo, I know kandies are the things to give out but id like to pass out pre-rolls too? Anyone else do that? :)

Equipment Tent for camping

Post image
101 Upvotes

I’m going with a group of 5 and we found a tent that would fit us perfectly with enough space to really set up our home for the week. I was just wondering if anyone has used this same tent and had it not hold up during the storm (pic attached)

this is my third year going and i’ve had atleast one canopy break on me during the storm so we’ve invested in heavy duty stakes & weights for extra support considering it is the whole structural support for the tent.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be super helpful!!

edit - we are camping at good life meadow, first time but i saw people saying it was 20x25 (pls correct me if im wrong)

Equipment What’s everyone’s bag situation looking like?

After many fests with a full backpack, I’m excited to finally have downsized to a crossbody bag. Curious on people’s experience with something smaller for the day vs a full size backpack/hydro pack. Luckily this thing has tons of spots for carabiners for water bottles or a coochie couch, and clips to hold pashminas etc.

Equipment GA Camp set up

I did a mock camp set up in my backyard. Hopefully some people find this helpful. Most of us can do the math on how much space we’re allotted (12ftx30ft). At the minimum we can chat GPT the dimensions while adding in your gear. Here’s a post for the visual learners like myself and it was eye opening.

I’ve always experienced Electric Forest by renting an RV with the homies. However this year it will be just my wife and I in GA camping for the first time. I’ve rented a Chrysler Pacifica leaving the option to car camp but also wanted to know if I should bring my tent as well. It’s a Wawona 6 with a footprint of roughly 10ft x 10 ft. We’re flying from Phoenix so choosing what gear to bring is critical.

Needless to say I’m going to buy a smaller tent just in case, but overall I’m leaning towards the car camping. The pictures provided shows the measured 12ft x 30ft GA camp space. Within that I measured out the dimensions of a Chrysler Pacifica roughly 7ftx 17ft. As you can see with our current tent that lives very little room for a “living area”.

Overall I’m glad I did this mock set up. This subreddit is chock full of quality knowledge and has been immensely helpful. I’m going to put the van under the pop up. Even possibly buy 2 pop ups. And get some Aluminet to cover the top like many have mentioned on this subreddit. Home Depot sells a 10ft x 20ft quilt. I purchased an Ecoflow River Pro 2 to help run fans and charge all of our devices. Im currently trying to devise a plan to build a cheap mister system.

Needless to say we’re very excited to get the honor of attending Electric Forest this year with all of you. This festival holds such a special place in our hearts. I hate to compare but EDC from a logistical standpoint is a much easier festival to attend versus Forest, that is for us at least. It’s virtually in our back yard. However this festival captivated us from year 1. It’s in my humble opinion that there is no other place like it on earth. This is solely because of the PEOPLE like yourselves who make it into a such a magical destination. 6 more weeks!!!!!!! Were so close Forest family, until we all frolic amongst the trees once more.

Equipment Earplugs: Hears vs Unplugs vs Loops

I have loops and they are good, but I REALLY want something that I can keep in my ears and turn on/off between sets to talk and not take out. It looks like Hears and Unplugs both have that setting but not sure how transparent they actually are?

Anyone tried either of those?

I have the loops with 3 settings now but I can’t hear well enough with transparency on to keep them in between sets. THANKS!

so here's the thing... i'm tall. i'm 6' and every festival i have been to i have had to change hunched over and moving in and out of my tent has always been uncomfortable. my best friend and i are going to forest for the first time this year. i wanted your guys' opinions on if this would fit in the campsite with our car? we're gonna be in GA (rite of passage, right?) and were *hoping* to have a canopy. but fitting the tent is the major priority.

do you think i'd be able to fit this tent AND a small canopy, just the tent, or find a new tent option?

If I brought one of these for the shower trucks does anyone know if it would stick to the wall? Are the walls magnetic? I want to hold an extra bag for my dry clothes. (* I always manage to get them wet with the one hook provided)

Equipment What's your go to stake for your canopy?

In the market for new stakes after the wind took our canopy down last year with what I thought were extra long stakes.. you live and you learn. Saw some chatter on popular stake options and now can't find that post. Send me your links for the best stakes if you have a second. Appreciate the help!

Equipment Best electric cooler for keeping drinks cold, any recommendations?

I’m trying to find a good electric cooler to keep drinks and snacks cold while camping, but I’m not sure which ones actually last all day without killing the battery. Has anyone used one that’s reliable, reasonably quiet, and doesn’t overheat?

Also wondering if certain sizes work better for a small campsite versus a bigger setup. Any real-world experience or suggestions would be super helpful, thanks!

Update: Went with Dometic CFX Electric Cooler and it’s been working great on my camping trips so far. Keeps drinks cold all day and hasn’t been too noisy either.

Equipment I am thinking of renting an electric car with camp mode to sleep in, has anyone tried this before and how is it?

As some electric cars have camp mode with climate control where it can run A/C all night without using much battery, it seems like an effective way to sleep in the hotter hours.

As someone who has camped before at fests but couldn’t sleep because of the beat (which really effected my energy and enjoyment of the fest),

this seems like a good option.

thoughts? has anyone tried this before?

Equipment Canopy /cooler rental?

Hi all- my friends and I are coming from California so we can’t really bring a canopy or a cooler but we don’t want to buy it and then return used. Are there any locals that would allow us to borrow or rent these items? We are flying into Chicago and driving over!

We can also barter. I own a clothing brand and I’m a Physical therapist so I can barter clothes, a massage or even a stretching session! Anything to keep stuff out of dumps. If there’s no other way then I’ll do that but trying to see if there’s any other options.

It’s not my friends first time but it’ll be mine! This is a bucketlist experience for me!

Equipment Best electric cooler for forest camping?

UPDATE: After more research and reading the comments, I looked more into the Dometic CFX Electric Cooler and it seems like a really solid choice for forest camping. It uses a compressor system that can cool down to around −7°F and can run on AC, DC, or even solar setups, which makes it flexible for long trips. Many models also include Bluetooth or app control and battery protection to avoid draining your vehicle battery. Thank you everyone.

Getting ready and looking for the best electric cooler since ice coolers get messy after a day and I want food and drinks to stay cold the whole Weekend. I will be camping the full festival so power use and size matter a lot. What type works best for festival camping and does it actually hold temp well in the heat?
