Equipment Shower Trucks

Post image

If I brought one of these for the shower trucks does anyone know if it would stick to the wall? Are the walls magnetic? I want to hold an extra bag for my dry clothes. (* I always manage to get them wet with the one hook provided)

Iirc the dividers between the stalls are metal so I think this might work? Not sure if they're aluminum so magnets might not stick to it. I'd go with a suction cup version just in case, and it might be able to hold weight better

ETA: either way, great idea!

Same to you! That's also a great idea. 🤝 I'll bring 1 suction and 1 magnetic. Will post results after the festival.

If you get a suction hook buy the kind that you have to bend the hook down creating a better suction!

Can confirm. The showers (at least in GL) did not support a magnet last year. My wife had this same idea and we learned first day the showers are some kind of aluminum or something so the magnets don’t work.

In the past they have had some shower trailers in good life that are different and not metal along with the ones you are referring too

A lot of backpackers carry a simple S-Hook from the hardware store for this.

If you put some pliers in your toiletry bag you can remove the shower head and clean the screen. Then put it back up. Will give you much much better water pressure.

How easy/recommended is this for someone to do with zero plumbing knowledge? lol

It's a screw cap on the end of the pipe. Like your sink. Lefty loosely - rightey tightey mate. :) makes a world of difference. I can usually get it with just my hands but ymmv.

It's usually just grit from the filters that gets transferred in with the tanked water. Clogs up the screen and makes it so you just get a couple tiny sprays instead of a shower.

Gonna remember this - thank you!

What about just not putting the screen back in?

Will make the shower kind of suck. They are there for a reason

I bring a plastic door hook. Works perfectly over the shower walls

What about an over the door hanger like this? Or have you heard about hero clips? It's a carabiner with a fold out hook perfect for getting your bag or stuff off the floor

Hero clips are the way to go for me. However the 5 triple hooks door hanger goes hard to assert dominance

I love hero clips!

It just made sense once I saw OPs picture like what would be best to add hanging storage in the showers? There's either side wall you could hang this on if the clearance was big enough on the top hook. I remember when I first started bringing my hanging toiletry bag, the hook that it has on there which is a totally normal hook didn't fit over the thick tubing at the top of each sidewall in shower. Otherwise something like this would be perfect and something that's meant to go over a door would probably be wide/ secure enough.

This year will be my 6th year and i might steal this idea

Those definitely won't hold a full bag, a shirt, possibly some jeans

I don't know if these will work, but that's fucking genius. I gotta find something like this.

These hooks may slide if you put them on a wall.

These hooks are not very strong I have some and the don’t hold like they say. FYI

Yes it should. S Hooks are great too as others mentioned. Best of luck finding that hot stall!!! Whenever I found one with hot water, I went back to the same one every single time lol

You’re going to need a lot stronger magnetic for vertical surfaces. I’d get 4x-5x the weight you intend to hang and it still might slide if wet.

Highly recommend Hero clips! I always have one attached to my backpack so I can hang it and I just take it off and use it for random stuff like dry bag hanging for showers. The carabiner is very multi-purpose especially when camping or at fests.

I tried this a couple years ago and did not work. The magnet didn't stick to the shower stall and I tried multiple stalls. Bring one of the ones that are supposed to hang over the top of a door
