Anyone know of a reliable AC/Plumbing company in the Chandler/Phoenix Area?

I'm currently paying a monthly "Membership" fee with Emergency Air and Plumbing. At first it started out well with them making timely visits for maintenance and checkups. Now, I'll schedule a maintenance appointment and I'll be continually pushed off on the day of the appointment. I had one scheduled mid March, they pushed it off until today, now they pushed it off again until July 8th. In the past 2-3 months I've paid them over $7,000 (with the 10% discount I get with my "membership")....They can certainly haul their rear ends out here when there's a lot of money to be made but can blow me off for a half hour maintenance call. I called them a week and a half ago to see if they'd install a water softener if I purchased it my self. They sent a couple of people out the next day trying to sell me a 19k water system when all I wanted was a simple question asked. They keep using the "We've so many emergency calls we can't fit you in until...."

Sorry, just venting. Anyone know of a company that does a better job than they do?

Clarification- I didn't pay them $7,000 for maintenance. I had some AC issues that required some modifications to my system. The unit was full of mold and had to be cleaned and sanitized. I also installed a UV system to prevent reoccurring.

Why do u need mknthly check ups on your plumbing? That is so atrange and sounds like a scam.

Actually a lot of companies do it now. That way instead of paying some outlandish service fee for them to come out and check and say everything's ok, there's no additional charge for it. It was working great for the first year then they started pulling this BS.

I used to pay a monthly fee to an HVAC company for the privilege of them coming to my house twice a year and offering me services I didnt need. I bet this is a similar situation.

Same - I paid Howard Air a membership for peace of mind and with each "complimentary tune up" came massive service needs that seemed out of nowhere.

Collins comfort is owned by private equity. I bet Howard is too. Duck those companies.

I did this also thinking I was taking care of my unit just like taking care of my car. A four year old house and I was always pitched something in the $1000s, even new duct work - of course I didn’t do it and cancelled the service. I do my research but it seems people are okay with this given all the five stars.

I left them a 1 star review. Hopefully u did the same.

Yeah, this was my first experience doing so. But after having so many bad AC experiences in the past I figured this might be kind of like an insurance policy.

So you bought their sales pitch? I don't know what outlandish service fees you think you might pay when you call someone versus these monthly check up. Ask what the fee is for someone to come out if you have an issue. And what are they even checking on a monthly bases? Walk around your house and see if there is a leak? Turn on a faucet? I doubt they are scoping your lines cause it's too much work.

You can pay anywhere from 75 to 150 (and I have) for them to even come out to diagnose an issue or do twice a year checkups (which are required to keep the Warranty active). Usually after hour service calls cost extra like when my AC went out in the middle of the night in the middle of summer. It's insurance basically.

And thanks for the opinion, which I didn't actually ask for but ok

Not plumbing, A/C and not always monthly. Actually they're supposed to do it twice a year. Mine was for March and September or October.

My general recommendation is to avoid any company that you see or hear an ad from. They are going to be expensive to pay for those ads.

I would also recommend at least 3 quotes especially if you are going to pay $7k

Yeah they just recently started flooding the streaming channels and Youtube with Ads.

I’d cancel that service immediately. Definitely a scam

AirTime Cooling and Heating, for HVAC. 4.9 Google rating, 4.8 Yelp. Have used them for 13 years. I tend to fix some AC stuff myself, one of their techs gave me tips on how to replace the fan motor on my AC compressor myself rather than paying them to do it (costing me only ~$130 for the part instead of paying $500ish).

Mountain Park Plumbing, for plumbing. 4.8 on Yelp. Also have used for 13 years. They did our water softener install (maybe 8 years ago? So price may not be exactly right) that we bought and it was like $300-400, though there were already installed lines in the garage that made the install easier. They never tried to push RO systems or whatever.

I've been using Hansen Family Plumbing and Air and have been happy with them.

I’ve used Element Plumbing for a variety of things and they are amazing. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I’ve used Affordable Heating and Air Conditioning before for maintenance/check ups and they were also very good. Not sure how they are on a major repair.

The family owned Kooline from Maricopa is focused on taking care of the customer. They have been honest and reliable. We stay away from the huge heating and air companies, found most are owned by out of state corporations.

We have been very happy with our experience with Foleys.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I'll start looking them up. One company I would not recommend is Hackney's AC. The screwed up my ac so bad I had to go to another company and replace it.

Ground Zero Plumbing, AC and Electrical. We used them to put in a brand new ac/furnace when our old one finally died. Also used them to put in a new water heater when that needed it. Super professional and quality work
