Looking for a JDM or classic BMW for a fashion shoot in Lyon

Salut,

Merci !

Hey,

I’m looking for a car for a fashion photo/video shoot around Lyon (France) on June 6th and 7th.

I’m mainly interested in JDM cars or older BMWs (E30, E36, E38, etc.), but I’m open to other interesting cars

If you know someone who might be interested, feel free to drop their Instagram or put me in touch with them.

Thanks !

BMW X3 M40i vs M440i GC

How are SUVs looked upon in EU? I don't see a lot of SUVs here in Europe. Where I come from, SUVs are considered premium and is seen as a status, plus the commanding seating position is something everyone likes.

I am not inclined towards either Sedan/Gran Coupe or SUV, but I do like the ease of entry and exit in SUV. I have a decent CPO deal on 2022 M440i GC for 47k euros. Does it make sense to stretch budget a bit, and maybe get a 2022/2023 X3 M40i? What will I miss getting an SUV over GC? Is there a major difference in handling or acceleration? How does the comfort differ for long road trips? For context, I am 6'2 , and primarily will only have a single co passenger. The car will be a daily driver for office commute, and frequent road trips across Europe.

[Academic] Choices of aftermarket replacement parts in France

Hello, I am asking for help with my current research project for an upcomming OE matching part manufacturer to work in France. Your input would be very helpful as the car enthusiast sector seems overlooked by replacement car part sellers. The survey will only take a few minutes, but it would help show that are enthusiasts interested

Form: https://forms.gle/DDhmnUwjYK8wFhjV8

Thanks to everyone in advance!

Help me choose my new car...

Hello ladies and gents,

I do not have any extensive knowledge on the mechanical side of car engineering. I Excel on houses since im a civil engineer 😀

I am at the point in my life where i can go a step forward in my vehicle life, so im looking for a new family SUV, with a touch of luxury..or at least 80k max luxury cause thats my celling and i would prefer not to go close to it.

I m already between some thots ...1. the reliable new Rav4 was my first glance but even tho everything is a matter of taste...the inside of the car besides the central screen is extremely poor to look at.

So i went to AUDI..2. Q5 bit more expensive but i felt a bit tight as a driver since its going more for a sporty vibe. Plus around web many ppl expressing concern about reliability.

Next stop Volvo 3. Xc60 ..and oh my!!!!inside was just marvelous when it comes to elegance. I never had any history with volvo i know nothing about reliability.

The boy inside me wanted to go to BMW so 4. X3 was okish in everything didn't provide any wow factors... maybe cause i prefer comfort instead od performance.

Im on the waiting for the new GLB to arrive in my country that seems to have good from all worlds...but its just videos till now.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Or personal experiences are appreciated

Thanks for your time

Since I'm turning 18 soon and will soon get my driver's license, I'm interested in your recommendation for my first car. I'm interested in a car with this vibe. It might seem funny or strange, but maybe someone knows what the golden key to my thoughts would be.

2016 Kia Carnival - Korean maps, need to convert to European maps. Is it possible?

I have a 2016 Kia Carnival that was originally built for the Korean market. The navigation system is fully Korean (maps, interface, language) and I need to convert it to European maps.
I’ve looked into this and found conflicting info.
Any advice or links to forum threads would be amazing. Thanks.

Here’s what I understand so far:

· The head unit is likely region-locked, so just swapping an SD card with European maps won’t work.
· Korean models often use different GPS hardware (frequency, satellite systems) than European units.
· Even if I install European map data, the firmware may reject it due to region coding.

Has anyone successfully done this conversion on a 2016 Kia (Carnival/Sedona) or similar Hyundai/Kia model?

What I’m looking for:

  1. Can the dealer reflash the head unit to EU spec?
  2. Is replacing the entire head unit with an EU second-hand unit the only reliable way?
  3. Are there aftermarket Android Auto/Apple CarPlay adapters that bypass the stock nav entirely?

I’m open to replacing the head unit if needed, but want to keep steering wheel controls and reverse camera working.

Any advice or links to forum threads would be amazing. Thanks.

Hello

Hope this is not the wrong reddit to this questions.

I see alot of Damaged/Repair cars in the UK (cars imported salvage from the US and repaired in Eastern Europe)

Does anyone have any insight on where is best to get a car repaired in Eastern Europe if I import a damaged car from the USA

Where are the €3k MX-5s and MR2s at?

Every "budget" recommendation thread mentions the MX-5 or MR2, but in my search, every decent example is listed for €10k+. Even the rough ones I've seen are way past €4k. Am I looking in the wrong places, or has the prices of those 2 really doubled? My budget is €3k (can stretch slightly for the right car), but I'm finding nothing but overpriced projects. If these are actually out of reach, what are some realistic, sporty alternatives under €3k that aren't total boats?

Edit: forgot to mention that I am a broke 18 year old and just want to buy my first car. I am not chasing speed(even tho can't really get much with this budget), I also want something at least a bit reliable which I know won't break down on me every 1.000 km

Discussion Is there a chance that VW will bring the new Atlas to Europe?

Unfortunately, the Touareg is being phased out. However, the Atlas could fill the void left behind, especially with 2.0-liter petrol and 2.0-liter PHEV engines. It would be competitive, and people would actually buy it.

In my opinion, it’s not a great direction for VW to "degrade" the brand like this.

We need a Revolution!

Let's demand the Emission Norms roll back to Euro 3 for Petrol Cars (for more than 3000cc). And removal of EU noise regulations for cars (for Power-to-Mass ratio >160 kW/t).
