Hey r/BristolDND folks,

I want to say thank you to all those who came to our first-ever show, shared posts and links, and recommended the show in comments despite never having seen it before.

It was such a fun, friendly night, and so many people said they found the show on Reddit, which wasn't where we were promoting it at first. The support we had was wild, and we really didn't expect it, as there was no reason to put your trust in us quite yet.

Needless to say, it sold out the day before, and we had no room to sell tickets at the door. And considering that the next show this month is already filling up, we think people enjoyed themselves.

I really want to hear what you thought! What was good? What could be better? Did you have a favourite part? What would we have to do for you to come again?

We want to see how we can improve so we can hopefully get approved to keep going once our four-show trial run is over.

Anyway, thank you again. I had great fun too! Hopefully, see you soon!

All the best,

Mike

Request ❗ Private rooms for tabletop gaming. Would that interest you?

Hi everyone!
So great to see BristolDND making a resurgence.

I’m currently exploring the idea of opening a tabletop gaming space in Bristol and wanted to get some feedback from the local community.

The focus would be on things like private rooms, flexible booking, and a more comfortable/immersive setup - particularly for games like D&D, Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, and other tabletop systems.

Before going any further, I want to understand what people actually want (or if there’s even demand for it).

I’ve put together a really quick survey (2–3 minutes):
πŸ‘‰ https://forms.gle/jWxw5tjHkte6VFgL7

Would massively appreciate any responses. It’ll genuinely help shape whether this becomes a reality or not.

If you know anyone else who plays tabletop games locally, feel free to pass this on, the more input the better. Thanks in advance!

I Made This! πŸ› οΈ Explorers of Elsewhere - Bristol-based TTRPG channel

Hey all!

I'm DM Dan and since the dark days of lockdown I've been running Explorers of Elsewhere, an inclusive TTRPG channel that focuses mainly on actual plays set in the persisting world of Elsewhere.

I wanted to showcase and champion loads of amazing TTRPG systems via the channel, and so far we've run main campaigns with:

D&D

PbtA Shadowrun

Blades in the Dark

Daggerheart

Call of Cthulhu

Draw Steel

Fabula Ultima

As well as a myriad of other systems for one-shots and charity streams for Bristol charities, such as Trophy Dark, Dread, Pugmire, Grant Howitt one-pagers and more.

We're always on the lookout for new players to bring new ideas to our shared world, as well as players who'd love to drop in for one-shots, and I've love it even more to link in with other content creators and players/GMs so we can all support one another.

We have a new Fabula Ultima campaign starting tonight on YouTube and Twitch from 7.30pm UK, so if you're interested, come say hi!

Events & Socials πŸ—“οΈ Fishponds: Dungeons & Dragons & other Tabletop Roleplaying Games, every Tues 6-10pm BS16

Formed in February 2023, East Bristol Adventurers is a free, weekly meetup for tabletop roleplaying games of all kinds. We meet every Tuesday, 6-10pm at Grounded, Fishponds (not their other locations! please don't go to the wrong one!). We now get 20-30 people each week and have a total membership of over 450. I even wrote a blogpost about setting it up in case that's useful to anyone else in Bristol!

Please send me a message for an invite to our Discord server, where people organise and sign up to games in advance. (Note: I ask people to send me a message because Reddit's anti-spam threatens me with a ban when I send the same Discord link to multiple people in a short space of time).

Any questions, let me know!

Hey y’all, delighted that this community exists.

I’m a longtime TTRPG fan, I primarily GM in the Fate system and I love the storytelling in it.

There’s this dead exciting live play coming up at the end of the month and I was wondering if anyone in this community was going?

It’d be nice to meet some fellow TTRPG enthusiasts. Maybe we could grab a beverage prior to the game.

Questions 🧠 A place to play

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good pub to play in. Ideally with a back room, in South Bristol and with parking.

I know people used to play at the Stag and Hounds in Old Market but I don't know if that is still the case.

Game Finder 🎲 Beginners DnD in bristol

Hey, I'm looking for some dnd games in bristol . I'm relatively new to the game and to the area so I'd love to find a game I can join or start a new one! I'm interested in starting to DM too so I'm open to trying that with everyone too. I have all the books and stuff, including strahd and a few beginner inclusive quest kits so I'm ready for most. Preferably we can chat on discord or something first so yaknow, weed out the weirdos. But yeah, any takers?

Events & Socials πŸ—“οΈ Fishponds Dungeons & Dragons & Other RPGs, every other Tuesday at the Crafty Egg on the high st

Hello all,

A few days ago we had our first meetup for this group, and got over 20 people to show up! If you're interested, drop a comment or message me and I'll send you a Discord link. Next meetup is Tues 21st at 6pm.

Why Fishponds?

I live here. The buses to the centre aren't the best. There seems to be a decent number of places large enough to try running games from on quieter nights (the management at The Crafty Egg seem keen from some preliminary conversations).

Are new players welcome?

Absolutely! I get the feeling from here and other social media that this is a hobby where people are unsure about how to take the 'first step' (probably because the social barrier to entry is a bit higher than say, a boardgame or videogame).

Of course, experienced players (especially people prepared to run games) are equally welcome - especially if there's enough interest to run more than one table at once.

What Games would we be playing?

Given this would be in a public space, and regular scheduling is the bane of most RPG groups, I would propose one-shots using simple, straightforward systems (Cairn, The Black Hack, Mothership, World of Dungeons, Monster of the Week, etc) rather than an epic campaign using something as complex as Dungeons & Dragons. However, if people are really keen for D&D then I have plenty of experience with it.

What happens next?

If you send me a DM/chat or comment on here I'll send you a Discord invite.

About Me

He/him, mid-30s, married with one spaniel. It is unlikely that he will attend sessions due to his troublesome nature and need to be in constant motion.
